First off sincere apologies for not starting this round much quicker... I kept forgetting to do it! (BAD Moderator lol).

In the last round we lost our second Spice Girl as Geri crashed out of the competition. Her fates haven't been too kind in this competition with 3 out of 4 of her #1s being the first to leave and, after a single round where she survived Mel B, her fourth entry also departs.

Mi Chico Latino was Geri's first solo #1 and came as a much breathed sigh of relief. I think Geri expected to see both her debut single and album chart at #1 as she expressed in her book the panic she felt when they respectively entered at #2 and #4, stating she wondered if she had made the biggest mistake of her life leaving the Spice Girls (yes you did!). Mi Chico Latino tapped into the latin sound that was popular after Ricky Martin's success and other acts following suite like Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez. The record company wanted her to release Lift me up, but she stuck to her guns and this summery pop number stormed to it's rightful place at the top of the charts. It sales stand at over 400,000 going Gold and marked the beginnings of her becoming the solo female with the most consecutive #1s to her name.

For the following round we have just three entries left, it's the battle of Sporty vs Baby. Will Mel go through with two contenders for the top spot or will Emma manage to get WTYSL through to the final round?

If it had been the original I Turn To You, I would have voted for it to land at #2 at the very least in this competition! In fact when it comes to quality, I think the original version of I Turn To You is even slightly better than WTYSL but that is mostly due to its production which is immaculate.
