I went on the gig on Friday 6h in Emirates! It was so cool! Robbie was fantastic and I really loved the C stage in the general admission. He was like 10m away :D

Nice to see lots of youngsters at the barrier there. We noticed how many men there were in the audience last Saturday - way more than 20 years ago

I am positive surprised how full the stadiums have been until now. Even Paris is sold out and France has never been his core audience

He never gets good reviews in Scandinavia does he?

Seems it's been that way for years.

He keeps selling out the stadiums though. 😉

I agree Laura ....

Oasis were in Croke Park Sat/Sun , I heard on the radio this morning that there was a major shortage of toilets so fans just pi**ed on the pitch 🫣. I can just imagine the clean up this morning .. Ugh ! 🤮

This tour is due to end OCT 7th so I wonder if he will do the mini tour for the album in November

Regarding the feedback on concerts in Scandinavia I've been in Denmark in 2013 and it was a positive and good experience, haven't seen or heard something wrong or so. But in general Denmark always been more loyal to TT and RW than Sweden, etc.

Sweden and Norway reviews I have stopped to read some time ago. They always seem to me as if you need to be the avantgarde act to receive good critics.

I can't remember if I said on here or not - son in law went to Oasis at Wembley and said he felt filthy when he got home. It seems in 21st century, some men still think its acceptable to wee into bottles and throw it in the air to see where it lands.....🤢

How Robbie Williams turned a field in Newcastle into pyrotechnic drenched dreamland

Robbie Williams headlined the first night of the new Come Together festival in Newcastle on Wednesday

Simon Duke TV & Showbiz Editor

Mass sing-along of Angels in Newcastle

While we're no stranger to a big name music act in these parts, we even have one of our own in the shape of Sam Fender, but standing on the Town Moor on a rather chilly night in Newcastle felt like a bit of a 'pinch me' moment. And hats off to Wednesday's star attraction, one Robbie Williams and all involved with Come Together festival, for turning that well known bit of land outside of town into a pyrotechnic drenched dreamland.

After the event, originally billed as 'the biggest festival the North East had ever seen,' was postponed from its original dates in June, it would be fair to say people were worried if Come Together would even happen, but we should be very glad it did as, achieving their aim to put Tyneside on the festival map, the team behind it and all the acts who entertained made its first day one to remember.

After stellar main stage sets from the likes of Newcastle's own Andrew Cushin, Little Mix icon Perrie Edwards, at her first North East gig as a solo artist and Kaiser Chiefs, all eyes fell back on it to witness headliner Robbie make a big and bold entrance to Let Me Entertain You. That set the tone for a near two hour set that was like a masterclass in British pop. While it not be that cool to admit that you're a big fan of Robbie Williams, something he's well aware of himself and has no problem taking the mick out of himself, I defy anyone to go to one of his shows and not be, well....entertained.

He is happy to declare he wanted to be the 'King of Entertainment' and that's a title he has continued to earn over the course of his 30+ time in the spotlight. Nobody does swagger laced pop music quite like Robbie but, in a set that was at times, hugely flashy, with the appearance of two different huge fur coats, there were some really emotional moments too.

I can't attest to being the biggest fan of big band music, but there is something about the power that Robbie put into his version of My Way on Wednesday that really hit hard and then came THE moment of the night and one which will live long in the memory of anyone who was there to witness it. One word - Angels.

While, having heard it done badly a few too many times than I'd have liked to on karaoke, it has become one of them songs that I tend to groan 'not this again!' whenever I hear it, when you witness tens of thousands of people singing it back to Robbie word perfect, it really does something to your soul. There was no expense spared for the final number of the night, with pyros galore, including an X Factor winner's style cascading water fall of them behind Robbie as he belted out the latter part of his famous song.

Newcastle has been blessed with a few epic moments in the last few years. We've had two sell out runs at St James' Park from Sam Fender, with the 'oh oh oh oh ohhhhs' of Seventeen Going Under still living rent free in our heads and, of course the huge citywide celebrations and parade that followed Newcastle's cup win. And Angels at Come Together on the Town Moor might not mean as much to a Geordie, but it's got to be up there.

SUPERSTAR Robbie Williams has been given an all-clear weather report for his rocket dive in front of 80,000 fans in Croke Park this weekend.

The Angels star will open his set at the GAA HQ by ascending to the top of a giant rocket, blasting off into space, then ejecting and dangling on a harness high above the crowd in Croker.

Superfan Lucy Champion said his fans are often left terrified by the stunt

And weather officials have given the Take That icon, 51, the green light to perform his death-defying stunt for his adoring Irish fanbase.

Contacted by The Irish Sun, Met Eireann have given Robbie the go ahead for his spectacular rocket jump.

A spokeswoman told us: “If there’s any breeze at all in Croke Park this Saturday, it will be a light one with the weather dry all day”.

Superfan Lucy Champion, who has witnessed four dates on Robbie’s Britpop tour, said his fans are often left terrified that Robbie will make it back to earth ok.

Lucy told The Irish Sun: “I was there on the opening night of his Britpop tour in Edinburgh and fans were really shocked to see Robbie dangling there.

“I’ve seen shows in England where it was windy and it looks like Robbie could have been blown against the rocket.

“He’s also coming down head first so before he lands Robbie has to pivot in the harness, to land feet first on the stage. “It’s a difficult manoeuvre for anyone to make.

“I was scared for Robbie because he has had back problems in the past but I know Robbie is fitter than he has ever been on this tour.”

The former Take That star admits he gets butterflies every night before he starts his ascent up the rocket ship at the start of each show.

Robbie told the Robbie Williams Rewind Podcast: “Every night it feels great to be alive and that I didn’t fall out the harness.

“The steps of the rocket are really steep. I always look at them from the bottom and think how am I going to get up there?

“But I somehow manage to do it. Then straight after I go into Let Me Entertain You and there is this great release.”

Lucy and husband Matt, from Hampshire in the UK, who run their Unofficial Robbie Podcast, will be among thousands of the singer’s fans who are coming over to Dublin to see their hero.

IRISH CROWD 'LOUDER'

Lucy beamed: “We’ve seen Robbie five times in Ireland because the audience here is louder, and much more excited and makes Robbie perform even better.”

This ringing endorsement for the capital comes despite the couple admitting that Dublin is the most expensive place to see Robbie on any tour.

She added: “We’re paying £720 (€820) for two nights but I know the concert will be brilliant. We’ve heard of fans coming in from America to be at Croke Park.”

Promoters MCD have released a limited number of tickets for Saturday night, with the Robbie concert at Croker coming just a week after two massive shows by Oasis.

RELATIONS HEATED

Relations between the sides have been heated over the years, with the Rock DJ famously challenging Liam Gallagher to a fight at the 2000 Brit Awards ceremony.

So there was surprise this week when Robbie offered to be the support act for the Gallagher brothers on their Live 25 reunion tour.

“We’ve seen Robbie five times in Ireland because the audience here is louder, and much more excited and makes Robbie perform even better.”

Superfan Lucy

Speaking to ITV News, the pop legend said : “I would open for Oasis. In this moment that they’re having right now, they are omnipresent and they are the peak zeitgeist.

“I can’t compete with that. So I would, I would open for Oasis. We’re not exactly friends, but I don’t think we’re enemies.”

'DOING A MARVELLOUS JOB'

Tensions previously eased after Robbie sent Liam Gallagher an appreciative message after the Oasis frontman praised the pop star’s work as part of the Soccer Aid charity.

Asked by a fan on Twitter if he had “ever considered playing at Soccer Aid”, Liam said the event itself involved “far too many celebrities for me” and that it was his “idea of hell”.

But added: “It was a great cause and that “Robbie Balboa (a reference to Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky movies) is doing a marvellous job.”

Fans attending Croke Park can also expect a hilarious on screen chat between an AI-generated version of Robbie aged 17 and one at 80 years of age.

Williams kicked off his Britpop tour in May, in support of his upcoming album of the same name, which is due to be released on October 10.
