So, about 40% of the audience yesterday were Russians and first 1-2 rows were only about us :)

Rob noted this and said many kind words...

Told Spasibo and Kazakhstan, Russia, I'm still your son...

One of the pleasant nights I've been.

Many people reached him at first time while wanted to do it for many years. Many people have seen a world masterpiece from a big star. I'm happy for them even more than for myself.

Everybody are happy, believe me!

We seen him also happy - it was a very kind atmosphere between him and audience.

Big big big thanks to Rob from hundreds people I know!! And from thousands I don't know.

I'm still must tell you about the concert in Barcelona ))) and in Almaty too ))

Nice to see lots of youngsters at the barrier there. We noticed how many men there were in the audience last Saturday - way more than 20 years ago

I am positive surprised how full the stadiums have been until now. Even Paris is sold out and France has never been his core audience

This is a very beautiful lady Polina.

I didn't know her but met her just to say that I liked her art. She informed me then that Rob noticed the art during the concert and gave a sign about it to her. What a man :)

Anyway, Polina and the monkey :)

LIVE: British King Robbie Williams performed a luxury show packed with hits, humor and touching moments in Prague

Author: Liv Boková

Robbie Williams showed on Sunday evening at the O2 Arena that he still has a good dose of rebel in him. Shortly after fifty, however, he knows how to tame it with grace. Perhaps all of them in the sold-out hall, supported by a great band, vocalists and dancers, were completely captivated from the very beginning.

Robbie Williams
Prague, O2 arena
07/09/2025

His current concert, like the one eight years ago in the open air in Prague's Letňany, could be summed up in one word as famous. This time, Robbie Williams arrived to us as part of the tour for his new, thirteenth studio album Britpop, which will be released on October 10th. As can be seen from the two singles released so far, it has an ironically thoroughly sharp rock sound.

After The Lottery Winners delighted the audience with their set, there was a pause, which was filled with recorded music in Prague's O2 arena. Among the songs played, one of the aforementioned samples from Robbie's new album was played - the song Spies. Very good stuff so it's a pity that we didn't see it live.

The two-hour, magnetically drawing Robbie Williams show into the plot began a quarter of an hour before nine in the evening. After an introductory word about the influence of the metaverse and AI on music and entertainment, it was the pilot single from the album Britpop, literally a rock song with a touch of punk, featuring the iconic Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi as a guest on the record. The kick-off of the concert was thus at a relatively fast pace and effectively fired up the audience for things to come.

Robbie appeared on stage in a jumpsuit ala a spacesuit, in which he flew down from the stage structure at the end of the song, where he was stripped of his astronaut clothes. He then sang and danced more than a third of the concert in a red costume replicating the famous tracksuit in which he "partyed" with the Gallagher brothers from Oasis in the backstage of the cult Glastonbury festival just after he ended up in the boyband Take That. A period photo adorns the cover of the new album, the current red "tracksuit" has an elegant instead of sports pants and the sweatshirt is studded with sequins.

He introduced himself as "Robbie f***in Williams", welcomed the audience and talked about how Michael Jackson declared himself the king of pop, he declares himself the king of entertainment. "But not without you, you are the show, we are the show," he said. With a huge dose of energy, he played the song Let Me Entertain You to the people, whom he immediately sang, applauded and lifted those in the stands from their chairs.

Subsequently, a mixture of excerpts of borrowed songs was heard. First Song 2 by Blur, followed by Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes and Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. When he made the audience sing and it seemed to him that we could step up, he said that in Kazakhstan, where he performed a few days earlier, they were louder. During the song Monsoon, he first stepped off the stage to hug several people from the front row. When the song was over, all he had to do was point wordlessly to a part of the tribune and people knew exactly what to do. They responded with enthusiastic roars. When different parts of the audience took turns like this, someone shouted, "I love you, Robbie." To which Robbie responded: "I love myself too."

Robbie Williams truly is the king of fun. He was accompanied by an excellent band, beautiful vocalists with no less beautiful voices. Because it was really a show, dancers could not be missing. Sometimes scantily clad in crop tops with RW inscriptions, other times on stilts in shiny gold dresses. The sound in the O2 arena was perfectly clear and powerful. The scene was complemented by projected thematic shots, from a simulation of a cabaret environment, through photographs from Robbie's family album, including all four children and a satba with Ayda Field, to portraits of music icons. During the concert, there was a huge amount of funny comments and sayings, which I could write all about, but on the one hand, they don't sound as funny as the original, and Robbie's expression, his charisma, his mischievous look, his smiles would be missing, so I'll mention only a few.

Am I still the fat dancer from Take That?

He always cut off touching moments at the right moment with an unexpected quote that made us laugh again. The only ones who could be at a bit of a disadvantage were people who are not very proficient in English. Before the next song, he asked himself a rhetorical question: "Am I still the fat dancer from Take That?" Or he said that he was not doing what he was doing for the money, but because he had four children and needed to get out of home.

The hit Rock DJ was in a more modern version and Robbie wore a red fur coat. He then caught two men coming into the stands with beer and reproached them for missing out on "two massive hits", while he welcomed two women even though they were late.

He then asked who had seen the Better Man biopic and mentioned that his life really began after he met his wife and gradually had four children. "Until then, I didn't know what I was doing on this planet, maybe I was successful, but... They had little hands and big hearts. They didn't see a popstar, but a person." This is how he introduced the beautiful song Love Miy Life and there was an atmosphere in the hall that made everyone feel perfectly tender. Well, it wouldn't be Robbie if he didn't cut off this romance by declaring that the confetti that fell at the end of the song is toilet paper, plus he said something about the toilet bowl.

Before the song, Strong had a witty dialogue with his seventeen-year-old self projected on the side screens. After The Road to Mandalay said that there will always be someone dissatisfied with the setlist of the concert, which is difficult to put together, because Robbie can guess which of his songs was the number one in the charts in our country. He sang the first two words of the ballad Angels and the audience sang the whole verse to him. He then invited Tom from The Lottery Winners with acoustic guitar to play excerpts from Better Man and Sexed Up, and after a slight dig at Garry Barlow, they provided the introduction to Take That's Relight My Fire, then they were joined by vocalists and singer Lottery Winners.

The next song was "Somethin' Beautiful", followed by the rhythmically danceable hit "Millennium". In the end, Robbie left to change his clothes to return in a bright pink suit. First wrapped in a giant boa and with a banana. Yes, with a banana, because, to paraphrase him loosely, "he doesn't take drugs anymore, so he needs to replenish his energy in a different way during the concert."

The stage was transformed into a luxurious cabaret and the classic song New York, New York was played. Then Robbie returned to his own repertoire for a while with the song Come Undone, to continue with the introduction of the band and vocalists. And so we could have excerpts from Man! I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain, Rock This Way by Run DMC and Aerosmith, YMCA by Village People or Hey Jude by The Beatles. It is perhaps not necessary to mention that everyone sang, danced and clapped enthusiastically.

She's the One dedicated to fan Renata

Robbie wanted to sing another song to a woman in the audience. First of all, he chose Mrs. Renata, with whom he had a witty and pleasant conversation and gave her a warm hug. The joy visible on her face is quite understandably indescribable. After She's the One, the king of entertainment added that he chose Renata because of her beautiful eyes, because eyes are the window to the soul. And he cut off the romance again when he asked if Mrs. Renata was behind her husband, whom he then thanked with humility and the couple embraced. This can also happen to you at a Robbie Williams concert.

One of the more serious moments was when the high-spirited showman mentioned the anxiety he suffers from and it came up during rehearsals for tour. His wife suggested why not try to focus on "right now". He also mentioned his grandmother, who taught him unconditional love, his mother, father and mother-in-law with serious illnesses. Sad, touching... not long, because Robbie started talking about his hard nipples and the audience could crack with laughter. And as a full stop, he used the sentence: "Tomorrow is not guaranteed, we are here right now... and we look at my nipples. Will you grow old with me?" What was the answer? An enthusiastic and unequivocal yes with great applause from the audience and Robbie's song My Way, which was once made famous by Frank Sinatra.

As an encore, Feel and, of course, one of the strongest ballads ever, Angels, were played. Lights in the O2 arena, Robbie in a white suit with sequins. Goosebumps, tears in the eyes, not only of the audience, but also in his, when he said goodbye without words, just nodding, smiling and raising his hands. An absolutely wonderful end to a perfect concert. Words cannot describe something like that. You leave with a blissful feeling that you want to keep inside for as long as possible.

Setlist: Rocket, Let Me Entertain You, Song 2 / Seven Nation Army / Livin' on a Prayer, Monsoon, Rock DJ, Love My Life, The Road to Mandalay, Take Me Home, Country Roads (John Denver cover), Angels / Better Man / Sexed Up / Candy (with The Lottery Winners), Relight My Fire (Dan Hartman cover) (with The Lottery Winners), Something Beautiful, Millennium, New York (John Kander cover), Undone, I Feel Like a Woman / Girls and Boys / The Boys Are Back in Town / Islands in the Stream / YMCA / We Are the Champions / Hey Jude, She's the One, My Way, Feels, Angels, (I've Had) The Time of My Life (Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes song)

If Michael Jackson was the King of Pop, I'm the King of Fun!' Robbie Williams performed in Prague

An energetic show, humor and nostalgia. Robbie Williams returned to Prague after eight years and confirmed why he calls himself the "King of Fun". There were hits Let Me Entertain You or Angels, as well as surprising cover versions of classics by Frank Sinatra and Bon Jovi.

"If Michael Jackson was the king of pop, then I am the king of fun!" – this is the statement made by 51-year-old Robbie Williams in front of the Prague audience and confirmed that humour and exaggeration are his strongest weapons on stage.

During the evening, he offered not only his greatest hits, but also typical British humor, thanks to which his performances stand out from other stars of the pop scene.

"I don't consider him a great singer, but he's just an entertainer and I enjoy that. I like his songs and that's enough for me," says fan Markéta from Prague, who has not missed a single concert in the Czech Republic.

And she adds: "For me, it's a kind of teenage love. I've always loved him very much. I actually went to his first concert by mistake. At that time, a colleague from work told me – we're going to a Robbie concert, will you join us? And that's where it all started, and I was actually at all his concerts in the Czech Republic."

Britpop Tour

The Prague concert was in the same spirit as the previous stops of the Britpop Tour 2025, which had already thrilled audiences in Edinburgh, London and Barcelona. There were Robbie's sayings and moments when the audience became a direct part of the show.

In addition, he prepared one of the strongest moments of the evening for Czech fans, when he dedicated the entire song She's the One and sang directly to fan Renata who was in the audience.

In Prague, proven hits such as Let Me Entertain You, Feel or Rock DJ were heard, and there was also a finale with Angels. Williams also included several cover versions in the program - for example, New York, New York by Frank Sinatra or Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi.

With his current tour, the British singer will stop in Budapest or Helsinki. By the end of the year, he plans to release a new album, on which he should musically return to the nineties - the golden era of British pop.

Robbie Williams' glossary: "f***in" and the conjunction "and". The show in Prague was unprecedented

Josef VlčekJosef Vlček

At the beginning of his Prague concert, the English superstar pop singer Robbie Williams declared that he had decided to become the greatest entertainer on this planet. Whether he really became or is becoming one is a matter of personal taste for each of the viewers.

However, he offered such a performance that the audience did not want to go home after it was over. The main reason was, in addition to the singer's personality and notoriously well-known songs, the form that the singer gave to his presentation.

Something between a one man show and stand up comedy with songs

Most of those present would probably be reluctant to call Williams' show a concert. It was more of a one-man theater show, cabaret stand-up comedy and postmodern communication with the audience, interspersed with songs. Williams clearly stuck to the pre-written text, but at the same time found a lot of room for improvisation. In Prague, he got a bit of a kick off with it, because unlike other concerts, he had to leave out the song Kids at the end. Everything, of course, in a positive spirit. Fun was omnipresent, except for one more serious, but still smiling speech.

Robbie Williams

It was interesting to see what he uses for his role as an entertainer. Here and there it's a parody when he used a microphone like Freddie Mercury once did. Other times it's more boyish. Or the grimaces that the cameraman carefully captures on the side screens, which take on a much more important role than at concerts by other artists. He encourages the audience to sing along, alternating personal topics that his fans know from the recently screened film Better Man with stories and sometimes even dirty lines. She hugs the viewers in the front rows and shows them with convincing poignancy that she appreciates them as friends. And most importantly, she accentuates ordinary women, no models or beauties from the audience.

Williams' show also emphasized its visuals. It was effective, but its main goal was not to disturb the spoken and sung component of the performance. We would expect a plethora of disguises from a person of his stature, but there were perhaps only four or five. Rear projection is also a matter of course today and one or two pieces with a small band in the middle of the audience were not surprising either.

Music nicely into rock

Of course, the overall impression of everyone's common entertainment was contributed by the choir singing of the audience, to which the singer purposefully devotes himself. Yes, everyone does it, but few have so many different tricks to make people sing.

The main goal of the singer's show was to entertain, not just to perform. The selection of original compositions corresponded to this. You could say that he played it safe. Apart from the opening Rocket, we didn't hear anything from the upcoming album Britpop, which is due out in October. Interestingly, there was another song at the beginning that is not one of his biggest hits, Monsoon, but its chorus is so catchy that it got the audience to boil and sing. Especially in English-speaking countries, the chorus "so put your hands across the water" must captivate even those who are not familiar with Williams' songs. (If there are any.) He improved some songs with an unusual arrangement - the larger part of Road To Mandalay in a performance with two acoustic guitars was at least interesting. And on the other hand, a band with three chorus singers and a three-member brass section gave many songs a powerful dimension.

After all, the overall concept of the musical part of the show was also remarkable. In many ways, Williams, whose love of the music of the 1950s is widely known, harks back to the times seventy or more years ago, when it was said that Frank Sinatra never sang a song the same way. Of course, Williams doesn't interfere with the music, but he often changes the lyrics and improvises in them, sometimes changing accents on certain words for accents on other words, he just plays with the songs.#

His own repertoire seems to be dictated by the opening song Rocket, on which Tommy Iommi from Black Sabbath plays with him in the recently released studio version, so he took on a strong rock accent right from the beginning. Some of the slower songs could easily be described as rock ballads in his live performance.

There was a football anthem and Hey Jude

An important role in his performance is played by the so-called snippets, small pieces of notorious songs, two clusters of which he used to intersperse his repertoire. He first used quotes right after the third song and surprisingly used the football anthem Seven Nation Army originally by the White Stripes and Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi to get the crowd even hotter and singing. The second time, he launched a similar medley starting with Aerosmith's Walk This Way and ending with the Beatles' Hey Jude to introduce the individual members of the band.

Finally, it is worth mentioning Williams' interesting vocabulary. If we were to follow the rotation of the most frequently used words in his talkative passages, the word "f***in" would undoubtedly win, followed by the conjunction "and". In third place would be "shit" and in fourth place would be "thank you, Prague". Well, as Mozart said, my Praguers understand me. But otherwise, as a storyteller, Williams is great. And if he sings well, even if not miraculously, such an action cannot end badly.
