Fans have been warned by the Premier League that fixtures could be moved at "relatively short notice" next season because of the number of teams playing in Europe.

A record nine top-flight clubs have qualified for Uefa competitions in the 2025-26 campaign.

The Premier League said there is an "increased likelihood" that games will be rescheduled if English teams reach the latter stages, and it suggested fans take this into consideration when planning their attendance at games.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham will be playing in the Champions League next season.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have qualified for the Europa League, while Nottingham Forest will be playing in the Conference League.

"While the Premier League celebrates this success, it will come with an impact on the scheduling of league matches," a statement from the Premier League said.

City at 5-2 is seriously tempting with Rodri back, a slew of new signings and ZERO chance of any points deductions.

When was the last time Liverpool retained the English title?

They won it three seasons in a row between 1981-84.

No Boxing Day fixtures is pretty unprecedented

Why is that?

@Dobbo not even sure 5/2 is that good a price for City. The Club World Cup is a bit of an unknown and yes Rodri is back, but he will be nowhere near his level pre-injury for 6-9 months. They should be more like 4/1. I think Chelsea are a much better punt at 14/1.

Wouldn’t put anything on City until these charges are dealt with

Has Pep ever gone back to back seasons without a title though? Ok I know the clubs he's been at but still!

Tottenham Hotspur have been fined £75,000 by the Football Association following homophobic chanting by their fans during a 3-0 win at Manchester United last September.

The chanting was said to have taken place in the 49th and 79th minutes of the Premier League fixture at Old Trafford.

Immediately after the game, Spurs condemned "abhorrent homophobic chanting" as "simply unacceptable" and vowed to take the "strongest possible action".
