West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been cleared of spot-fixing charges by an independent regulatory commission - almost two years after the Football Association launched an investigation into him.

The FA started their investigation in August 2023 and the Brazil international was charged in May last year for allegedly getting booked deliberately "for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market".

Paqueta was facing the prospect of a lifetime ban if the 27-year-old was found guilty.

    Damn!

I think he’s guilty but glad he got found innocent. Too good a player to be banned for something so ridiculous

We need a new thread for that!

No more having to endure Stop This Flame at every ad break this season! @Dobbo 😆

Sky Sports will sound different this year too: a reworked version of G.O.A.T by Kasabian featuring Cristale will be the new title track for the 2025/26 Premier League season and beyond.

I had to look it up to see what it was about, but I guess it will be a re-worked version of this we will all be subjected to now!

Was that ever a hit for them? Can’t say I’ve heard it much!

Good opening game 4-2 Liverpool definitely need a defender

I think signing Guehi would be really good, but like Steve says our shape just doesn't look balanced at the moment. It will take a bit of time, lots of good things but lots to work on too. We certainly seem to be lacking a bit fitness wise, which I suspect is on purpose, but Bournemouth definitely physically dominated us for large parts. And all through pre-season we've been uttely hopeless to defending the counter attack.

Really good game of football though, Bournemouth will certainly take points off our rivals this year so happy days! I always think the first few games are just about getting through them.

Yeh you could put any defender in there and they’d be exposed!

Thought Slot's comments post game were interesting, seems this was way of design. I think part of it is we have players who can play killer passes, but clearly we got a bit too excited.

Can’t get too carried away by the opening week but wolves and Burnley do look like they’re going down
