Good game from Fognini, I often avoid the opening games of favourites like Alcaraz as I don't like walkovers but that was good to see him put up a spirited defence and good last match at Wimbledon.

Decent effort from the young Mimi Xu against Radacanu, but experience won out - Radacanu vs VondrouΕ‘ovΓ‘ is an interesting upcoming second round match now, two former Grand Slam winners who are now unseeded (and in neither case due to being in the twilight of their career either)

Jaysus seems to have been around forever always beaten in the Q/Semis by the big three.

Thought he was around 36!

Slightly surprised Rune is out round 1!

Seven Brits winning on the first day is the highest number in the Open Era

Another seed out this time the sixth seed in the women's draw Qinwen Zheng who loses in three sets to Katerina Siniakova

As well as the fifteenth seed in the women's draw Karolina Muchova losing in straight sets to Xinyu Wang,

In the men's draw, the 27th seed Denis Shapovalov is out after losing in four sets to Argentina's Mariano Navone

Fritz through in five sets against Mpetshi Perricard. Mpetshi Perricard broke the Wimbledon fastet serve record clocking at 153mph.

In the men's draw, the 28th seed Alexander Bublik is out in five sets to Spain's Jaume Munar.

Zverev is yet another 'top' player with a garbage Wimbledon record, never even made it to the quarters in 9 attempts. Similar with Gauff, I'm sure she'll lose her match today as well.

The second seed is out. Coco Gauff is out. What an performance from Yastremska.

A shocking amount of seeds out already, and surprisingly more men's seeds are gone then women's! Some aren't really a surprise (Zheng Qinwen went out R1 the last two years as well, Ostapenko is so inconsistent that she's always a good bet of an early upset), but Pegula had worn a warm-up tournament just last week, and I'd expected Alexander Bublik to have a deep run based on recent performance.

Pretty boring first match for Draper, in that he was never under threat even before his opponent got injured.

What a good fight Tarvet put up against Alcaraz in that final set there heart some brilliant points. Hopefully more to come from him in the future.

so many seeds out already, Paolini also out, #2,3,4 and 5 are out in ladies I believe
