Very good list. White Lies, Last Call, Karma and Puppet are all ones I really love.

Also really like I Say OK.

I fully believe 'Higher' could've been a #1 instead of 'Missing You' (as that was fairly close sales-wise)

  • 'My Heart Takes Over' being in their top 10 most streamed is a very pleasant surprise for me!!! What an underrated BEAUT!

15 years later and I still can’t believe Higher only reached #10, deserved so much better.

Fun fact: It reached its peak of #10 on this very day 15 years ago!

Just thinking about when I won an All Fired Up vinyl and a signed 30 Days CD in a competition.

Amazing news!!!

"Just Can't Get Enough" has now surpassed 20 million streams on Spotify, becoming their 4th song to do so.

cheeseblock

"My Heart Takes Over" was released as a single 14 years ago today!

It’s aged so well. The hit that got away!

Been listening to "Forever Is Over" on repeat today. Such a gem. x

The Saturdays' almost top 10 bingo:

#1 What About Us

#2 Just Can't Get Enough, Forever Is Over

#3 Missing You, All Fired Up

#4 Issues

#5 Up, Disco Love

#6 None :(

#7 30 Days

#8 If This Is Love, Notorious

#9 Ego

#10 Higher

A pity they couldn't achieve a #6!

Interestingly, Issues initially had a peak at #6 (which was achieved in its first week of physical availability) but then it climbed to #4 a week later... which was needed in order to have their only #4 hit!

Here's how close some of their singles were to #6 (unfortunately it's not known how close If This Is Love was to being #6):

#6 36,319 Rihanna - Where Have You Been

#7 36,214 The Saturdays - 30 Days

[Difference: 105]

#5 51,490 The Saturdays - Disco Love

#6 46,297 James Blunt - Bonfire Heart

[Difference: 5,193]

#6 33,505 Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

#9 26,959 The Saturdays - Ego

[Difference: 6,546]

#6 37,701 Chris Brown - Beautiful People

#8 30,273 The Saturdays - Notorious

[Difference: 7,428]

#5 26,593 The Saturdays - Up

#6 18,460 Snow Patrol - Take Back the City

[Difference: 8,133]

#6 50,042 Cee Lo Green - Forget You

#10 32,499 The Saturdays - Higher

[Difference: 17,543]

30 Days was so close to #6! But if that had peaked at #6, then they'd have needed a different #7 single, with either Notorious or If This Is Love. Notorious was 4,040 copies behind #7, and it's unknown how close to #7 If This Is Love was.

If Issues had stuck to its peak of #6, they'd have been in need of another single peaking at #4...

All Fired Up at #3 was 17,009 ahead of #4

Disco Love at #5 was 9,146 behind #4

Missing You at #3 was 8,804 ahead of #4

Up at #5 was 5,737 copies behind #4

So none of those were close to winding up with a #4 peak.

Girls Aloud also missed out on a full Top 10 bingo by not achieving a #8, but they had two #9s. Can't Speak French was quite close to #8... it sold 19,556, while the #8 sold 20,087 - just 531 copies difference. It's unknown how close See the Day was to being #8.

Who sung the first line in every single:

If This Is Love - Una (Tell me baby, in the night do you think of me?)

Up - Una (Go, go, go.)

Issues - Vanessa (Sometimes I feel like I'm going out of my mind.)

Just Can't Get Enough - Vanessa (When I'm with you baby, I go out of my head.)

Work - Mollie (Baby, the harder you work, the further you get with me, with me.)

Forever Is Over - Una (I was caught in a place far away from the light.)

Ego - Vanessa (We used to go together.)

Missing You - Frankie (I miss missing you.)

Higher - Vanessa (I'm doing nothing.)

Notorious - Mollie (I'm an outlaw, I'm the big boss, I'm a gangster on the dance floor.)

All Fired Up - Vanessa (Blow my mind, DJ blow my mind, come on.)

My Heart Takes Over - Vanessa (What's it gonna be?)

30 Days - Mollie (I woke up in the morning.)

What About Us - Rochelle (Oh why are, we are waiting so long)

Gentleman - Vanessa (A gentleman is so 1995, so hard for a girl to find.)

Disco Love - Mollie (What you say, Mr. Lovable?)

Not Giving Up - Rochelle (You took my heart from the dark.)

What Are You Waiting For? - All 5 (Tonight we're on a massive attack.)

Vanessa - 7 (Issues, Just Can't Get Enough, Ego, Higher, All Fired Up, My Heart Takes Over, Gentleman)

Mollie - 4 (Work, Notorious, 30 Days, Disco Love)

Una - 3 (If This Is Love, Up, Forever Is Over)

Rochelle - 2 (What About Us, Not Giving Up)

Frankie - 1 (Missing You)

All 5 - 1 (What Are You Waiting For?)

Edited by DanielCarey

Wow! I took until What About Us for Rochelle to get the opening line of a single.

By that stage Vanessa Had 6, Mollie 3, Una 3 and Frankie 1.
