Incredible announcement, cannot wait to buy it. The Top of the Pops re-runs on BBC Four are in 1999 at the moment so I've been reliving a lot of these tracks recently.

Perhaps they’re scared to announce it because of your scathing iTunes reviews.

It’s like you completely ignored everything I had to say. It’s wild that I was told this by someone in the music industry and you’re just like “no” who probably has no experience in the field whatsoev

Seeing as extra 1999 will most likely be released 7th August, I hope Now 124 is released 24th July so it ain’t released too close to extra 1999. Apart from 12" 1987 part 1 and Now 124, I hope they release yearbook 60s volume 3 in July or another eras. I just hope that the next 70s yearbook is 1975

I’ve watched every single airing episode of the 90’s since BBC Four brought them on in 2021. I’ve been enjoying it so much but I’m sad it’s coming to a close now that we’re at the tail end of 1999.

Every week though it’s been banger after banger and I cannot contain my excitement when I’m watching it!

I hope once the 70s and 90s yearbooks are complete, that they start on the 00s

Real Yearbooks, I felt the Millennium releases to be a bit lazy to be honest. We really do need 4 discs and the Extra 3 discs. Especially for 2000-2004 as I found so many songs that could have made the numbered NOWs between 45 and 59. 60 was the start of an improvement, and the 2007 volumes were peak (66, 67, 68).

Seeing as we’re still getting Chemical Brothers on compilations, I hope they include Go on Now 124

Was hoping for 99! Just like when we got 97 last years just after the TOTP repeats!

Quite a good selection and boding well for the Extra too! Shame there’s no Blue, can’t see that being saved for the Extra. Interesting they’ve chosen to save Boom Boom Boom Boom.

The Pretenders track was on TOTP the other week was it not?

With Len and William Orbit appearing here as well as on the Millennium Series, do you think they might do proper 2000s yearbooks at some point?

Could Blue (Da Ba Dee) be saved for the Final Chapter perhaps, I guess they have to hold a few big hits back.

It was on the Sizzling Summer and 93-03 albums in 2023 but hasn't been compiled since, perhaps there's a chance the license has been lost.

The Millennium Prayer feels like an Extra closing song, if they bother to include it. Maybe that can wait for Final Chaper Extra.

Ties nicely with those guess that's why they went with this year.

Yes i agree i can see The Millennium Prayer closing the extra version.

Of possible extra tracks, i think Duran Duran's Electric Barbarella could be a potential given they're regular NOW Yearbook inclusions.

Of course one thing is guaranteed on the 99 extra, is that David Sylvian is a dead cert.

Probably seeing as I Surrender went top 40. I’m surprised none of his 1986 songs appeared on any of the 1986 related yearbooks. I reckon Taking The Veil will appear on vault 1986 with Silver Moon missing out completely and Larger Than Life, It’s Not Right But It’s Okay and Man! I Feel Like A Woman should’ve been relegated to the extra edition to spread the songs out

I've done a breakdown of the tracks on NOW Yearbook 1999 and have noticed that all songs sans Pretenders' 'Human' (No.33) made the Top 20. Considering that there are ~143 Top 10 hits in 1999, this does actually make this Yearbook statistically strong. Probably stronger than the other 90's Yearbooks. The Extra will likely to be quite strong too with so many Top 10 hits, let alone Top 20 hits to choose from.

Pretenders should’ve been relegated to the extra edition considering how many top 20 songs there were in 1999 instead of putting them on there. Hopefully, they don’t include any songs on extra 1999 that missed the top 40. Save them for the vault

I have a few honourable mentions for Yearbook Extra 1999:

Westlife - Swear It Again

Macy Gray - I Try

B*Witched - Jesse Hold On

Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat

Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now

Ann Lee - 2 Times

Boyzone - You Needed Me

Stereophonics - Pick a Part That's New

Robbie Williams - It's Only Us

Martine McCutcheon - I've Got You

Geri Halliwell - Look at Me

Moby - Run On

I’ve been looking at the LP of Yearbook 1999, and believe it or not, the colour of it appears to be a magenta colour, so I don’t think it’s entirely pink.
