Fading Like A Flower as I grew up with the Joyride album

Yeah it's great that one. The Dancing DJs version was good too.

Perhaps they’re scared to announce it because of your scathing iTunes reviews.

It’s like you completely ignored everything I had to say. It’s wild that I was told this by someone in the music industry and you’re just like “no” who probably has no experience in the field whatsoev

I was expecting Fading Like A Flower on the main edition along with Joyride and Spending My Time on extra. Shame The Big L never got included on extra too as there was room for one more Roxette song

There’s been talk on the Now collectors page on Facebook about 1985-1989 being the next yearbook

At long last if so. I suppose they can't continue The Vault until they've put out Final Chapter/Extra for those years.

That’s why they done it. It’s needs to be done in order to continue the vaults. I just hope they don’t make a mistake by repeating songs from the individual yearbooks

I'm really hoping this to be true. So many big songs that didn't make the original Yearbooks, let's hope we get the "oddballs" and such on these final chapters.

Also, hard agree on Roxette - Fading Like A Flower. Both it and the Dancing DJs remix are absolutely stellar.

Anyone done a prediction for what we could see on the Final Chapter/Extra?

I suppose we might get some of the PSB singles from when the licenses were unavailable, like West End Girls.

IMG_2580.jpegHere’s another hint on 1985-1989 and as for Pet Shop Boys, it will probably be Suburbia on main and either Opportunities or Rent on extra. I think there’s licensing issues with West End Girls and I hope Freddie Mercury opens either main or extra. George Michael’s label need to get over the track 1 obsession. I hope the remaining yearbooks for this year are early 70s and late 90s

What does the eyes/face mean?

Oh that's a shame about West End Girls, weird to have licensing issues over one song. I have it on two compilations released this decade, but both times were remixes and not the original.

It's got the 80's colour theming at the bottom. Realistically it could be the '85-'89: The Final Chapter, but a part of me wishes it's more of backfill of tracks that at the time couldn't be licensed, but now can be. Like some kind of Extra Plus! 😆

Gosh, somebody there has got some insider knowledge haven't they. Maybe an undercover mole or someone who works for a publication who gets press releases under embargo (and is breaking them evidently).

That's a very strong list of artists for a leftovers album. I hadn't considered Living Doll would make it. Some songs were clearly held back deliberately for this release, like Texas. I suppose they have to hold back some strong material so that this thing sells.

Here’s my guess of what songs they are

Oh this is cool! It's A Sin is confirmed! Also, Dancing In The Dark! This is excellent! Looking forward to the tracklist!

It’s A Sin should’ve been on 1987 as there was room for it on there. It should’ve been Always On My Mind and It’s A Sin on main and What Have I Done To Deserve This and Rent on extra rather than have 2 songs on main and none on extra

It was probably a licensing issue at the time. It may have been rectified or salvaged very recently. It's still good that they've made the collection in the end.

My prediction for releases...

1985-1989 Final Chapter

1985-1989 Final Chapter Extra

1980-1989 Definitive Final Chapter

(1980-1989 Definitive Final Chapter Extra)

Because, you know, they just love the 80's. But... no recycles makes it harder to do plus there is the Vault series too.

That's the thing. I mean, technically there's nothing stopping them doing a definitive decade closure with an Extra on top, but at that point, they would have exhausted most chart smashes. Just like they redeemed Pet Shop Boys, Bruce Springsteen and Heart here, they may be able to redeem other acts that have had licensing nightmares previously, but then NOW have acquired the rights to since.
