Perhaps they’re scared to announce it because of your scathing iTunes reviews.

It’s like you completely ignored everything I had to say. It’s wild that I was told this by someone in the music industry and you’re just like “no” who probably has no experience in the field whatsoev

Valerie also appeared on the 1987 yearbook

That was the '87 remix which fared better than the original in 1982. I imagine this is the original from 1982 here.

On the whole, I really like this Vaults tracklist. A lot here I don't even know about so can't wait to discover. The two highlights (and the only really recognisable ones to me, sans 'Valerie') are The Go-Go's - Vacation and The Waitresses - I Know What Boys Like. Underrated bangers.

On the topic of Now Yearbook 1991 Extra, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels that The Simpsons being missed is a huge missed opportunity. Granted, they were produced by Michael Jackson and his team, I feel it wouldn't have costed NOW as much to licence due to them these days being considered a novelty of its time, rather than the MJ-produced side of it. You never see them in MJ's best songs collections anywhere at all!

Still hurting about the lack of them, Iron Maiden and Enigma being missed. The Stonk being missed kind of makes sense since it's a charity song, but then again the Yearbooks have represented charity songs in the past so I can't really justify them missing that track. Same applies to Mr Blobby on NOW Yearbook 1993 or its Extra. To a lesser extent, the Teletubbies on Yearbook 1997 and its Extra too. (Though I did hear Scott Mills play them on Radio 2 the other day as 'On this day in history', but they struggled to play the full thing because people in the studio including Scott himself couldn't stand playing the thing in the first place, claiming its very much a song of its time lmao)

It will be the 1982 version which to be honest sounds the same as the 1987 version. They missed a trick by not including Iron Maiden on 1990 and 1991 so I hope they don’t miss a trick by not including them on 1990-1994. I’m hoping they announce 12" 1986 part 1 this week as we normally get 12" 80s in January, April, July and October

What other compilations have Iron Maiden appeared on in the UK with that particular song? (Bring Your Daughter…)

Missing a trick would be if it was available to them in the first place.

They appear on other compilations. It’s not like their songs are unlicensable

Next Yearbook's definitely going to be 1975 (if I am correct).

What makes you so sure it will be 1975? Maybe they might go with early 70s for a change seeing as we haven’t had an early 70s yearbook since May 2024. They should do the early 70s for a change rather than rush the late 70s like they did with early 80s

It would feel more complete if they did 1985-1989 The Final Chapter. Yearbook 1975 is a possibilty, but then so is Yearbook 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1999.

With this particular song? What albums has it been on?

I’ll be surprised if the next yearbook is 1985-1989 instead of 70s and if it is 70s, I hope it’s early 70s. Next yearbook will be 70s or 1985-1989. If anything, they’ll need to push 1985-1989 and its extra in order to continue the vaults

Why would that particular song be hard to license and I imagine it probably has appeared on compilations in the past

I can’t see that it ever has having just looked into it.

Maybe the title puts Now off it?

Bit of a silly reason not to include the song on any compilation. They could just go with the short title Bring Your Daughter…

It’s funny how they were active this week on their social media but they couldn’t be bothered to announce 12" 1986 part 1 when we usually get 12" 80s in January. I expect that to be the first announcement we get next year

They're probably on their Christmas holidays now. Probably won't see anything until the second Thursday in January (8th). Have a good Christmas!

They announced sounds of the suburbs on 9th January and released it on 31st January so I expect it to be a same situation with 12" 1986 part 1 and I will have a good Christmas and same goes to you. I’m surprised their first announcement this year wasn’t on 2nd January as it was back to work day

I'm really holding out hope for Yearbook '99 this year PLEASE

I’m hoping the next yearbook in February will be 1985-1989 instead of 70s but I can’t see it being the former as we already have vault 1982 scheduled for next month and 12" 1986 part 1 is more likely to land next month too. They’ll need to rush 1985-1989 if they’re gonna continue the vault
