Decent tracklisting.

No Our Kid so must be a licensing issue. Strange to see no Girls Girls Girls by Sailor as Glass Of Champagne's on the main one.

Not sure if anybody would be interested in these but I’ve made fanmade versions of Now 10-19 with the familiar Now artwork, taken from the US editions, including notable omissions. Here is my version

Here's my Now 16, the last of three 1989 editions and the last volume of the 80s. Due to the number of omissions included, quite a large number of tracks from the original Now 16 I have taken off. I w

I think this is a good edition, hardly any top tens missing from the period. It’s a shame Golden isn’t there but it’s too huge still I suppose or Netflix just aren’t offering it for licensing at all.

Same for Bionic Santa by Chris Hill another one you never see on compilations.

And Renta Santa the previous year.

Same goes for a lot of novelty tracks.

1976 has become the second 70s yearbook after 1973 to miss the top of the compilation chart and 1982 is the only 80s yearbook to miss the top of the compilation chart

Chris Hill used the actual excerpts from tracks so maybe there's an issue with some of those. Heard that's the reason anyway.

Just received the 1976 yearbook yesterday. I find the selected tracks quite decent reflecting the charts quite well. A pity that ABBA is missing, but their songs seem not to be reachable.

I also took a deeper look on the 97 yearbook and they omit quite a lot of dance songs - normally I would have expected that at least one CD would be rammed purely with dance songs. Particularly these should have been added:

Gala - Freed From Desire (peak #2)

Sash! - Ecuador (#2)

Rosie Gaines - Closer Than Close (#4)

DJ Quicksilver - Bellissima (#4)

Todd Terry - Something's Going On (#5)

B.B.E. - Flash (#5)

The Course - Ready Or Not (#5)

Daft Punk - Around The World (#5)

PF Project - Choose Life (#6)

Further miss outs

The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony (#2), Drugs Don't Work (#1)

All Saints - Never Ever (#1)

Will Smith - Men In Black (#1)

Blur - Beetlebum (#1), Song 2 (#2)

No Doubt - Don't Speak (#1)

V.A. - Perfect Day (#1)

Michael Jackson - Blood On The Dance Floor (#1)

Faith Evans - I'll Be Missing You (#1)

U2 - Discotheque (#1)

Placebo - Nancy Boy (#4)

Closer Than Close is disc 1 track 5 on extra 1997 and Never Ever is on 1998. I agree about the miss outs and you forgot to include Tubthumping on the list of miss outs. I also hope that today’s announcement is vault 1982 but it will most likely be 12" 1985 part 2

Hi there everyone and anyone - I wonder if the hivemind can help. I'm pretty sure a while back I saw that someone had created an excel file of every track featured on the Now albums to download. I may be imagining it, but if anyone here knows of one - could they point me in the right direction? Much appreciated!!

Would be happy with some extra "Radio 2" artists this time to bulk out the discs as some of those are quality songs.

They should follow other countries and use pop, dance and r&b as filler rather than radio 2 artists even though I reckon they prioritise the radio 2 artists and use the chart songs as filler and they’re also taking their time to announce vault 1982

I thought I’d make a list of songs which I hope and expect to appear on Now 122

Looks like 1991 is gonna be the next yearbook and it’s due for release on 31st October. Big mistake they made is by including Should I Stay Or Should I Go when it already appeared on extra 1982. I hope 1995 is the second yearbook we get next year

The Clash again doesn't really bother me, it was a No.1 in 1991 so fits this album.

I do wonder if the 85-89 Final Chapter will be released next year to drag the 80s love-in even further on.

No Bryan Adams, but I didn't expect that, or Queen (George Michael takes priority!).

1991 was about Freddie and not George so they should’ve prioritised Freddie. They need to stop prioritising George. The mistake they made with the Clash is the same mistake they made with A Flock Of Seagulls on extra 1980-1984 and vault 1984, the Bluebells on 10th anniversary 1984 and 1993 and Blur on millennium series 1995 and 1996. With the Clash, they should’ve put it on either 1982 or 1991 more preferably the latter, not both. I just hope they don’t include Bohemian Rhapsody on extra. With 1985-1989, they could release it in place of the pointless spin-offs we usually get after the autumn Now like they did in 2022 with 1980-1984

Is it a mistake though, if a song was a hit in two different years? I'd say it was deliberate.

Your example with A Flock Of Seagulls clearly was a mistake, and very shoddy of them, but a different situation.

If a song is a hit in two different years, they’ll normally include it on the year it peaked rather than the year it was released, not both so in my eyes, it was a mistake. Saying that, when they do the 1999 yearbook, I wouldn’t mind them making a mistake by including Steal My Sunshine which is also on Now Millennium 2000-2001

I think that is when a song straddles two different consecutive years though over the Christmas period, surely, like Never Ever and Angels?

Not when a song is a hit in two completely different and far apart years like Should I Stay Or Should I Go or Young At Heart. I think it's fair game to include them on both as they were completely different time periods and hits for different reasons (often to do with adverts).

And if a song peaks on the border, they’ll include it on the following year. Cry Wolf for instance. It peaked on the border between 1986 and 1987 and it got included on 1987. I just hope that Bohemian Rhapsody isn’t the Queen song we get on extra 1991. I hope they go with either Innuendo or These Are The Days Of Our Lives
