I think as long as they sell enough copies to turn a profit they’ll be happy to keep it going.I don’t think the government will ban Spotify to save a commercial business.Quite. Not sure banning Spotify would do a lot for Now’s fortunes quite honestly. Not to mention that the government would definitely revoke such a controversial decision immediately due to overwhelming public pressure - streaming is so ingrained in the daily lives of most people that it’s as second nature as turning on the TV. They won’t let go of the convenience without a fight and certainly wouldn’t go back to Now albums in any great number, many people don’t even keep a CD player anymore. There’s no denying that streaming helped to kill off Now, but there’s no going back - the tide turned a very long time ago now and habits have changed.

Wouldn't know unless there was another PARTYNEXTDOOR song that would be in the top 100 that got starred out (or not).(or maybe they just apply rules ad hoc depending on how they feel on any given week - yeah it's probably that)
Friday at 20:351 day Very pleased the album got 1 with solid enough sales. A rare victory for love over hate. Hopefully it can break into the top 10 of the EOY in the near future looking at that total
Friday at 20:401 day I dont hate Alex i actually wanted him to get to number one until you started being obnoxious 🤣

There was only 1 PartyNextDoor solo song on that album, we'd have to know if that song was starred out to know more

Friday at 20:481 day Can't believe the resident beacon of wit has suggested the government should ban Spotify to save the Now series. Jesus Harold Christ 🤣🤣

If they had other songs not from the album that would be charting at the same time that'd provide some insight.(I had forgotten that there was only one PND solo song)

Yesterday at 07:011 day As predicted Alex made it thanks to the nearly 15k streamsCant believe some people saw the mids and their poor interpretation was that physicals were saving him lol2k vinyls x Alex is the biggest underperformance i can recall, this is a pisspoor result
Yesterday at 08:391 day Na 13.5k isn't nearly 15k, thats a 10 percent error margin 🤭🤭 we dont have a breakdown either so it could quite possibly physicals that saved him 🤣
Yesterday at 08:401 day Considering it is not a new Album, those sales are pretty good. Not sure why people would think that the sales would be enormous for a 6 or 7 month old album

Yesterday at 09:001 day In fairness though, it's not like he's had a chance to build a sizeable fanbase yet so maybe they (or you) overestimated the demand on physicals despite having a big hit? Most people I know irl don't even know who he is when I mention his name to them, even though they've heard 'Ordinary' on the radio.
23 hours ago23 hr So far this year Alex has had four top 10’s, a 14 week number one and a number one album. I’d say that’s pretty decent as a whole. Vinyl’s and CD’s for a non retro or Stan type artist are a tough sell because most households do not own anything to play them on

Not sure why people would think that the sales would be enormous for a 6 or 7 month old albumIt is a new album's worth of material, it's just inheriting the chart run of the previously released... album? EP? 'mini album'? Not sure what you would call it, because it's been tacked on to the end rather than released entirely separately. Which also means it continues to benefit from the streams of the previously released songs. It's also the first time the album has appeared in the physical album chart top 100, although the OCC website does list it as having 11 weeks on the chart which I think includes weeks at #101-200 which we can't see, in any case very few people will have owned 'Part 1' physically so it might as well be a new physical release.(Not to say I was expecting much higher numbers for it, I think 20k is pretty respectable, much like I thought Benson's album sales were ok)
