  • Americans hate UK rap I’m surprised it’s doing as well as it is not only with central cee but Drake basically using a fake Jamaican British accent the whole song

  • Ordinary is such a SMASH HIT.

  • Golden above Bieber today we may have a K-pop 1 on our hands

Suspect 3 lions might actually make an appearance now they actually won it

Why does it not make an appearence like during the normal World Cup and euros?

Lyrically all the songs are about mens football and it doesn't get half as much coverage as the men's, like, for example the national papers literally only had a tiny bit on front pages for the quarter and semi finals, mens it would of been everything

To me it’s been unavoidable with it being on the bbc and itv. I don’t really check the front pages out anymore.

BBC and itv yeah, but social media and everywhere just poor, plus in general hardly anyone has talked about it in comparison to mens where whereever you go its shoved down your throats almost

Compared to 10 years ago the woman’s game is a lot more present.

The world cup in 2019 seemed to be the change over.

More because the last 3 plus tournaments they have done so well, compare it to mens they , make a final things close or close early etc etc, woman make a final 3rd consecutive major tournament, nothing different

Not sure I’m reading what you said there correctly but they would show it and hype it in 2025 whether they were making finals or not.

GP into a shop a pub anywhere etc when the men's tournaments are on its inescapable from game 1 of the group stages, even leading up to the tournaments,

For the womans not so much

Heck its proven in music , vindaloo world in motion etc etc are all over radios when the men's is on

I know this has been spoken about before but I just can’t get my head around why ordinary has been so successful and its streaming numbers have been consistently high and show no signs of slowing down. He’s not a big name, like this was more or less his first hit, I can see why some people might like it but I wouldn’t say it’s an AMAZING song just fairly ordinary (lol), so for it to have been #1 on Apple for I can’t remember how long and #1 on Spotify with 400k plus for months, I personally just find it difficult to figure out how it’s become so huge

Yeh I take your examples above as fair points. But suppose it shows the media etc are behind it but the GP maybe aren’t as invested as much (yet) in terms of narrative.

I guess it’s because like most hugely consistent songs it’s a song most like but maybe don’t love or are different in any way to push the boundaries or MOR is another word for it,
