Nice “re-entry” haha. I used to enjoy the “good girl gone bad” album in my more poppy days.

I think he meant to say new entry since it never made the Top 40 but idk

Oh yay 'Breakin' Dishes' finally getting an overdue reset and chart position - funnily enough debuting in the same position as Coldplay's 'Sparks' when it did likewise.

(And lol at her actually releasing a new song this year but it's instead an album track from 2007 giving her a new top 40 hit - I thought 'Friend Of Mine' was overhated but 'Breakin' Dishes' is certainly better, an bop x)

Biography

Stray Kids (often abbreviated to SKZ; Korean: 스트레이 키즈; RR: Seuteurei Kijeu) is a South Korean boy band formed by JYP Entertainment. The band consists of eight members: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N; Woojin left the band in 2019. Stray Kids primarily self-produce its recordings; the main production team is named 3Racha and consists of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, and the other members frequently participate in songwriting. The leader, Bang Chan, personally selected each member to be a part of the band before the filming of the eponymous 2017 reality television show, something that is unusual in K-Pop where that authority is usually held by the agency's executives and creative directors. The band released their unofficial debut extended play (EP) Mixtape in January 2018 and officially debuted on March 25 with the EP I Am Not, which was followed by the EPs I Am Who and I Am You, completing the I Am EP series. The Clé trilogy, consisting of Clé 1: Miroh, Clé 2: Yellow Wood, and Clé: Levanter, was released in 2019. The band's first studio album Go Live (2020) become its first platinum-certified album by Korea Music Content Association (KMCA). That year, Stray Kids made their Japanese debut with the compilation album SKZ2020, which was released through Epic Records Japan. Their debut Japanese single "Top" debuted atop the Oricon Singles Chart, the fourth foreign male artists to do so with the first single. In 2021, Stray Kids' second studio album Noeasy became its first million-selling album. After signing with Republic Records for promotions in the United States in 2022, the band released their EPs Oddinary, Maxident (both 2022), Rock-Star (2023), and Ate (2024); their third studio album 5-Star (2023); and their first mixtape Hop (2024). These six releases peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 and entered the UK Albums Chart, making them the first act to debut at the top of Billboard 200 with their first-sixth-charted albums. The KMCA certified 5-Star five-million in album sales, making Stray Kids the third group to achieve this in Korea. In 2023, the band appeared on Time's list of Next Generation Leaders. As of December 2024, Stray Kids has sold over 31 million albums, both Korean and Japanese releases. - Wikipedia

Biography

Lola Young is an R&B-rooted, stylistically dynamic vocalist and multi-instrumentalist whose combination of smoky vocals and mature songwriting has prompted comparisons to Amy Winehouse and Adele. Although the South East London native's 2019 debut, the Intro EP, made a significant impression, she experienced her true breakout in 2021. Her atmospheric cover of "Together in Electric Dreams" soundtracked John Lewis & Partners' annual Christmas advertising campaign that year, and she was also shortlisted for the 2022 BRITs Rising Star category, a distinction that affirmed her individuality. Following a handful of singles, including "So Sorry" and "Stream of Consciousness," Young issued her debut album, 2023's My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely. This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway followed quickly in 2024. - Apple Music

Stray Kids yet to have a chart play! They skipped Chk Chk Boom last year too

Why is that Rihanna song charting? Tiktok?

They skipped a new entry to play an song that's been in the charts for a bit. Typical Radio 1.

Just now, JosephBoone said:

Not sure what the issue with Stray Kids is, irritating for a new entry to be skipped (again rolleyes)

Maybe due to heavy plays for Lola Young and the majority of the long-term musicians Radio 1 heavily champions but more accurately, time constraints..

Biography

Benson Boone (born in 2002 in Monroe, WA) bet on himself and hit big in the early 2020s. After leaving Brigham Young University to pursue his music career, the singer-songwriter tried out for American Idol, but he left the competition after making it past the talent show’s auditions. Trading the small screen of TV for the hand-sized screens of social media, he began posting videos online, and Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds took notice, signing Boone to his label Night Street Records. Boone’s early singles were emotion-packed piano ballads—the sweeping debut single “GHOST TOWN,” the swirling 2022 cut “In The Stars”—but plugging in proved to be a winning strategy. His modern power ballad “Beautiful Things,” released in early 2024, was an online sensation before it became a global megahit, reaching the U.S. Top 10 and readying the world for Boone’s debut full-length, Fireworks & Rollerblades, which came out that spring. - Apple Music

Biography

As a kid growing up just south of Atlanta, rapper Gunna, a.k.a. Sergio Kitchens (born 1993), used to practice what he and his friends called “six-month runs”: cut all extraneous spending for six months and save, save, save. The discipline and deferred gratification served him well: After spending his late teens and early twenties quietly exploring his style and releasing only one mixtape, Gunna broke big in 2016 with a feature on Young Thug’s “Floyd Mayweather”—a cosign that helped him bypass the hustle and made him one of the most sought-after new voices in the game. Later that year, Thug’s YSL label released the first of his multi-part Drip Season series, which synthesized his influences into an airy trap sound: smooth and mellow, blending spacious beats with a relaxed, highly melodic delivery and off-the-cuff humor. Between a couple more seasons of Drip and features with Travis Scott (“Yosemite”) and Metro Boomin (“Space Cadet”), Gunna also forged a productive collaboration with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, releasing Drip Harder in late 2018. The pairing was anointed GOAT status from a sometime GOAT himself, Future, with whom Gunna also featured on “Unicorn Purp.” Like Thug, Gunna has a thing for fashion; “drip” is his slang for personal style. “The salesmen that know me in Barneys say I smell like Biscotti mixed with Creed,” he raps on “Idk Why,” from his official 2019 debut album, Drip or Drown 2. In subsequent years, Gunna propelled himself to new heights, with albums like WUNNA (2020) and DS4EVER (2022) crystallizing his status as one of Atlanta's most dynamic stylists. The latter LP produced "pushin P," a single assisted by Young Thug and Future that bubbles with charisma and understated yet emphatic authority. Unfortunately, it was the last moment before Gunna was arrested and jailed as part of Georgia's RICO case against Young Thug. Following his release from jail in late 2022, Gunna returned with a Gift & a Curse. Fueled by his indelible single "fukumean," the single reestablished his status as a master of melody and dismissive cool. - Apple Music

Biography

A sensitive troubadour for the age of social media, Sombr places equal emphasis on sound and soul-baring lyrics. "Caroline," the viral hit that helped the singer/songwriter escalate from indie status to a major label while he was still in his teens, relies on cinematic vistas and rolling harmonies as much as his dramatic vocals. By the time he released the EP In Another Life in 2023, Sombr was collaborating with Tony Berg -- a producer known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers and Michael Penn -- and opening up his music in ways he continued to explore on the 2024 single "In Your Arms." - Apple Music

Biography

Some groups spend years chasing stardom, and others seem to just instantly will it into existence. The latter was certainly the case with Manchester’s Oasis, who named the first song on their first album “Rock ’n’ Roll Star” as if their fate were preordained. Arriving in the midst of the peak alt-rock era, Oasis’ 1994 debut, Definitely Maybe, was a bird-flipping retort to the navel-gazing angst of grunge, rolling the melodicism of The Beatles, the swagger of T. Rex, the sneer of the Sex Pistols and the strobe-lit grooves of The Stone Roses into alternately sleazy (“Cigarettes & Alcohol”) and celebratory (“Live Forever”) pint-raising anthems. And it wasn’t just the group’s sound that harkened back to the glory days of British rock—in the simmering tension between the guitarist who wrote all the tunes (Noel Gallagher) and the singer who brought them to life (his braggadocious brother Liam), Oasis came pre-packaged with a sibling-rivalry soap opera to rival that of The Kinks. Definitely Maybe’s No. 1 debut on the UK charts turned Oasis into the ubiquitous bad boys of Britpop, an image they gleefully indulged through their tabloid-baiting pissing matches with London’s Blur, the art-school antithesis of the Gallaghers’ working-class laddism. But with 1995’s follow-up, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, Oasis shed the Union Jack trappings to become the only English band of the era to match their domestic success in the US, thanks to karaoke-ready sing-alongs like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. With more than 20 million copies sold worldwide, Morning Glory effectively turned Oasis into an institution, one that would continue to sell out arenas for years to come (even after 1997’s infamously over-the-top Be Here Now signalled the end of Britpop’s pop-cultural dominance). The Gallaghers’ ever-fraught relationship would sink Oasis in 2009, but the enduring, cross-generational appeal of their most popular songs—with “Wonderwall” ranking among the most-streamed tracks of the ’90s—ensures a legacy that will live forever. - Apple Music
