Posted September 28, 2025Sep 28 R is for Rehab. Two music heavyweights of the latter half of the 00s fight it out now in the battle of the Rehabs! The utter legend Amy Winehouse released her 'Rehab' first, at the end of 2006, candidly telling the story of her battles with addiction and, in turn, propelling herself to international fame and acclaim. 'Rehab' was of course part of her magnum opus Back to Black which helped reshape the music scene of the latter 00s and also shaped Amy into a cultural icon. The song is Amy's highest charting single as a lead artist and earned her a US top 10 hit. Two years later and another utter legend called Rihanna released her own 'Rehab' as the gazillionth single from her blockbuster album Good Girl Gone Bad, and became a cute top 20 hit for her. The music video notably features Justin Timberlake, who also provided backing vocals to the song. But which is your favourite 'Rehab'?Soundclash: Noughties Namesakes history:A is for All I Ever Wanted (Basshunter vs Kelly Clarkson)B is for Baby Boy (Big Brovaz vs Beyoncé & Sean Paul)C is for Call My Name (Prince vs Charlotte Church)D is for Don't Tell Me (Madonna vs Avril Lavigne)E is for Emergency (Paramore vs Jordin Sparks)F is for Free Me (Emma Bunton vs Joss Stone)G is for Gravity (Sara Bareilles vs Pixie Lott)H is for Hey Baby (DJ Otzi vs No Doubt)I is for I Turn To You (Christina Aguilera vs Melanie C)J is for Jump (Girls Aloud vs Madonna)K is for Kids (Robbie Williams & Kylie Minogue vs MGMT)L is for Lately (Samantha Mumba vs Lisa Scott-Lee)M is for Miss Independent (Kelly Clarkson vs Ne-Yo)N is for Nasty Girl (The Notorious B.I.G. vs Destiny's Child)O is for Over and Over (Nelly & Tim McGraw vs Hot Chip)P is for Perfect Day (Kelis vs Cascada)Q is for Quicksand (Britney Spears vs La Roux)
September 29, 2025Sep 29 Amy Winehouse.Rihanna's was a filler and not sure why it was pushed as a single when Breakin' Dishes was still right there (at least it got its moment in the end).
September 29, 2025Sep 29 It would definitely be Amy Winehouse, in recent years realised how blooming brilliant this song.
