Friday at 22:505 days Author Kicking off the top 40 now is the first of three singles from Taylor's debut album. Teardrops On My Guitar was released as the second single in February 2007. Though it did also get a 'pop radio' remix and release in the UK & Australia in 2009. Another single that I liked quite a bit back around 2009 but have cooled on it over the years. Betty was a bit of a surprise for me when going through the Folklore singles, I didn't have much expectation of it, but I really enjoyed it. There was just something about it that really struck me, though I can't quite put my finger on it. Should've Said No was the 5th and final single released from the debut album and I had this placed higher than the one to come for a while. I do prefer this type of country music from Taylor compared to the ballad type. #37 is another fifth and final single, this time it's Fearless. This in my opinion should've been the 4th single instead of Fifteen, I think it's might've done better world wide. Picture To Burn was the 4th single from the debut album and has the achievement of being the best placed single from the debut album in my rank. I've always had a soft spot for this one and it's the one I'm most looking forward to hearing if we ever get a 'Taylor's Version' of her debut album.Picture To BurnFearlessShould've Said NoBetteyTeardrops On My Guitar
Friday at 23:545 days TOMG weird release schedule here was convinced was a fearless track for years decent second single thoughBetty expected it to be bigger after the promotion it got but then again covid was weird times, one of my favourite from folklore SSN enjoyable track but more on the ok side than great for me Fearless made sense to be the last single and summed up the era nice enough but no LS/YBWM probably the weakest single from fearlessPTB controversial lyric aside one of my favourites from debut
Sunday at 01:464 days Author #35 is Exile featuring Bon Ever, the second single from Folklore. I had very low expectations going into this one and it completely exceeded them, I was expecting to place this in the bottom 10 if I'm being honest. This also does have me wanting to take a deeper dive into Folklore. I never quite got the fuss for New Romantics at the time it seemed like a good album track, it's actually a deluxe album track. It's just I'd have preferred some of the stronger album tracks as the final single for the mega smash hit album 1989. Shake It Off places halfway at #33 which seems fitting for a song I absolutely despised for years. It's still inescapable to this day and I think that's lead to it starting to grow on me. Mr Perfectly Fine was such a great addition to the Taylors Version of Fearless and I can see why it was chosen as the single from the release. It slots in beautifully alongside Love Story, White Horse and other great songs from the album. Finishing just outside the top 30 at #31 is Karma. Released as the third and final single from Midnights it's one that I find much stronger and more palatable than Lavender Haze.KarmaMr Perfectly FineShake It OffNew RomanticsExile ft Bon Iver
Sunday at 10:474 days Exile, very strong song, the singles rollout of Folklore was just weird thoughNew romantics as a 7th single it was decent but it didnt even make the standard version , the songs that came before were definitely betterShake it off, marmite of a song was definitely the right choice of a lead and an easy crowd pleaser im more in the love it campMr perfectly fine great track definitely the best vault tracks from fearless should of been on the original, my top 3 from the albumKarma another marmite track was the remix a PR stunt or not (pretty long one if is they still hang out at events together) for me definitely stronger than lavender haze was there better single choices maybe but I really like it
Sunday at 22:423 days Author Taylor's most recent single The Fate Of Ophelia starts off my top 30. It's a very decent lead single for me and one I've gone back to a bit this past month. Though time will tell whether this will drop over time, stay steady or climb. I much prefer I Can Do It With A Broken Heart to Fortnight and out of the two would've much preferred this be the lead from The Tortured Poets Department. I've gone back to it far more than Fortnight. I wasn't a huge Red era fan at the time and I Knew You were Trouble really grated on me for quite a few years, but now I enjoy it quite a bit and will often listen to it. Though it does sound a bit dated I think. I was quite surprised with how much I like the first two singles off Evermore, with Willow coming in at #27 and No Body, No Crime ft Haim coming in at #26. Willow seemed liked the perfect follow up to Cardigan and I absolutely adored No Body, No Crime from the first listen. I can certainly see it shooting up my placings over time.No Body, No Crime ft HaimWillowI Knew You Were TroubleI Can Do It With A Broken HeartThe Fate Of Ophelia
Monday at 00:323 days TFOO honestly still jot sick of this great lead annoying catchy just so nice to hear her sound so happy ICDIWABH pretty fitting you have these 2 back to back considering how polar opposite they are lyrically, my second favourite track of TTPD IKYWT was obsessed with this at the time possibly my favourite at the time but probably slipped into 3rd or 4th from Red but still great regardlessWillow another great lead definitely in my top 3 from evermore along with NBNC shame the single release run of evermore was as weird as it was for folklore
Monday at 22:522 days Author Top 25 time and 3 Reputation songs drop out here. In at #25 is ...Ready For It. I didn't like many of Reputations singles the first time I heard them, in fact that point in time was when my interest in Taylor's music was probably at it's lowest. It's safe to say that most of Reputations singles have really grown on me over time and there's one I absolutely love which will feature later on. Gorgeous was sent to Australian radio as a single in later 2017 and I can remember it being all over radio in the lead up to Christmas, so I was a little surprised when it peaked at #9 over here. At #23 is 22, the fourth single from Red, it's very early 'pop' Taylor and one that I think helped lay the foundations well for what was to come. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together makes it back-to-back Red singles, released as it's leading single in August 2012. I can still remember hearing this for the first time. I was home sick from work and was completely surprised by the transformation from country to full on pop. I liked it initially, then hated it and now I'm back enjoying it again. Just missing out on the top 20 is Delicate, the second last Reputation single to feature here. Like many of the Reputation singles it's one that's really grown on me recently, as I don't think it would've been in my top 40 a few years back.DelicateWe Are Never Ever Getting Back Together22Gorgeous...Ready For It Edited Tuesday at 23:061 day by Paddington James
Monday at 23:202 days Ready for it, really set the tone of the album at the time I did prefer it to LWYMMD although thats flipped but still a great crowd pleaserGorgeous , was an IG here so it entered at 9 then nosedived back when IG were huge here, I can take or leave it personally but the other Rep songs were stronger Red nice bop just one of the weaker Red singles for me to it being ome of the latter singles made sense We are never ever getting back together definitely signalled that she had arrived excellent choice of a lead single and showcased her range very wellDelicate grew to a cult status proving to be a fan pleaser despite its low peak, cute song but I just prefer the other rep singles personally
Monday at 23:292 days Just catching up with the last few sections and 'exile' could be my favourite Taylor song nowadays, so I'm glad it exceeded your expectations 'willow' and 'no body, no crime' are both great from the underrated evermore also.'New Romantics' is a great poppier moment and 'The Fate of Ophelia' has swiftly made a positive impact on me.
Tuesday at 23:141 day Author Three 1989 singles out in 20-16 range. Starting at #20 is Bad Blood featuring Kendrick Lemar. I remember being surprised initially with this collaboration, I also wasn't sold on the original version of this but the single version really did elevate it for me. Is It Over Now? hit #1 in many countries when released as the main single from 1989 Taylor's Version. I think this was the best one to go with as well, it's certainly my favourite from the vault tracks. Red is next up the title track of Taylor's fourth album, I had it level with 22 for quite a while which I think led to the confusion in the previous post. Although I didn't give it much attention at the time it's one that struck a chord with me when going through the singles again. Out Of The Woods was released as the 6th single from 1989 and when your 6th single is this good you just know that your album is packed full of hits. I really went through a phase of loving this in 2015, but then went off it for a good 5-7 years but I've come back around to it again. At #16 is the lead from the surprise album Folklore. I wasn't sure what to think of Cardigan when it was first released back in 2020 as it was a bit of a departure from the Taylor I was familiar with, so I wasn't that fond of it. Though after the past 5 years it has really grown on me.CardiganOut Of The WoodsRedIs It Over Now?Bad Blood ft Kenrick Lemar Edited Tuesday at 23:161 day by Paddington James
Tuesday at 23:151 day Author I don't know how I got confused with the placings of 22 and Red but I did. I've fixed things up now. :)
Tuesday at 23:191 day I'm glad you warmed to 'Out Of The Woods' again! It was my firm favourite Taylor song until 'exile' shook things up a bit. What a massive, atmospheric pop song. The quickfire chorus is a rush.Shame it didn't really set the charts alight but true that it was pretty late in the campaign anyway!'cardigan' is also gorgeous.
Tuesday at 23:301 day Author Did it get much of a push though? (Out Of The woods) I don't recall it getting one.
Yesterday at 00:471 day BAD Blood vastly superior to the album version and that video was literally cinema, not quite as good as SIO / BS for me personally though still greatIs it over now wasn't supposed to be the single think unofficially was supposed to be slut , and tbf the better song took off (slut not too bad though) IION should of been on the original but then it might not of got its moment as it had like 10 singles Thoughts on 22 here save me editing, very strong single choice definitely such an earworm Red was lowkey full of bop, was obsessed with it at the time (I was literally 22 when it came out so might of affected it) still enjoy it now Out of the woods was a good final single and the video was 🙌🙌 being the 6th single 15 months after the album had been released probably didnt help its chart position (new romantics was released a couple of weeks later too) Cardigan great track to showcase the new folk Taylor not my favourite from the album but perfect choice of a lead single

23 hours ago23 hr Author Moving onto the songs singles that just missed my top 10, 2 from Fearless, 2 from Speak Now and 1 from Lover. #15 is Mean, this was an instant favourite of mine from the first time I heard Speak Now. It's a song that I feel would resonate with lots of people with it's music video capturing that high school experience. #14 is Lover's 4th single The Man. I was always a little confused with the single roll out for Lover as this was released a little over 5 months after the previous single which I thought was quite the gap. Like many of her singles around this time it's one I wasn't sold on at first but it's really grown on me over time and I can certainly see it pushing my top 10 in the future. #13 and #12 are Fearless singles and the ones that launched Taylor US country singer to International star. Love Story and You Belong With Me. I will always have a soft spot for these, particularly Love Story as it's the first song I'd ever heard from Taylor and I can recall listening to it walking the inner city of Melbourne on those hot days in early 2009. Whilst I enjoy Taylor's country music I do enjoy her more pop oriented releases. #11 is Mine which was released as the lead single from Speak Now in August 2010. I can recall when this was released, I had enjoyed a lot of Fearless and was eagerly anticipating what Taylor was going to come back with. It was nice and please and felt a little like Love Story pt 2 in places.MineYou Belong With MeLove StoryThe ManMean
21 hours ago21 hr Mean a cute bop could say annoyingly catchy id say somewhere in the middle for me from SNThe man an iconic song with an iconic video was obsessed with it at the time slipped down for me but still a bopLove story my first taste of Taylor at the time and I'll be honest I was team Kelly in the chart battle, its an iconic song and I've grown to love it more over time and now actually prefer it to My life would suck without you (sorry Kelly 😅) personally the best song from fearlessYou Belong With be ok the second best song from fearless again became iconic over time, shame it initially performed poorly in comparison to LS though Mine is like marmite but I was obsessed with it at the time (well the whole of speak now tbf 🤭) was rooting for the TV to chart and have a much better peak (alas Enchanted took the 3rd song slot 😢 damn cruel summer just being phenomenally huge at the time) for me still the best song of SN
