Hello everyone. About twelve months ago I undertook the task of listening to all of Kylie Minogue's singles and ranking them all from my least favourite to my favourite. As I've always had at least a passing interest in Taylors music I thought it was about time I undertook the same task with her single discography.

I've used Wikipedia and also what I know were singles in Australia (Gorgeous & Getaway Car) to compile this list below of 66 songs. I've made a playlist off all the below songs and once finished I'll rank them and count them down here. Please feel free to let me know if I've left any singles off the list. (So for the streaming era where everything charts I won't be including those. Otherwise there'd be 200+ songs!) 🙂

Please post your thoughts and predictions belows and I'm looking forward to kicking this off in the next week or two! 🙂

I've started going through all Taylor's singles this week to help me with ht placings for the rank. Currently finishing off the Red era singles. :)

It's been more difficult than I initially expected.

I'll be kicking things off tomorrow with my bottom 6 (66-61).

There'll be:

  • A Taylor feature

  • A stand alone single

  • 3 songs with featured artists

  • A 2nd single

Kicking things off now with the bottom 6 songs:

Of the six songs below there were only two I wasn't overly familiar with before starting this rank (Christmas Tree Farm & Highway Don't Care). So that may have contributed to the low placement for those two, it probably doesn't help that's it's not really the time of year for Christmas songs yet either. For the other four songs though they've always been ones I look to avoid where possible. I don't think any of them are on a non Taylor Swift playlist of mine and if they come on the radio or music video channels then I normally switch off. Nothing against the songs personally, I just feel Taylor has many more stronger singles in her discography.

  1. You Need To Calm Down

  2. Christmas Tree Farm

  3. Everything Has Changed ft Ed Sheeran

  4. End Game ft Ed Sheeran & Future

  5. I Don't Wanna Live Forever with Zayn

  6. Highway Don't Care (w/ Tim McGraw & Keith Urban)

Ooh someone is anti Ed sheeran here

HDC is definitely an underrated track ,

IDWLF I rarely go back too so no big loss

EG weird never took off here quite enjoyable

CTF erm no shouldn't be this low like it's a christmas classic

YNTCD definitely a marmite track but im more in the positive camp

Time for the next 5 songs. The only song here that I had a real prior memory of was Me! and whilst I don't mind it in small doses it's not one of her more 'pop' songs that I'd choose to go back to. Slut! was one that didn't do much for me at all. The other three though I can certainly see growing on me with repeated listens. I feel I only have them down this low as I'm not really familiar with them yet. Though I feel if I gave them repeated listens then they'd certainly climb a lot higher. (That's something I may need to do).

  1. I Bet You Think About Me ft Chris Stapleton

  2. Begin Again

  3. Roman

  4. Me! Ft Brendon Urie

  5. Slut!

I remember at the time in 2017 I expected End Game to be huge, partly due to Ed Sheeran being at his 'peak'. So I was surprised when it performed they way it did.

I'll have to add Christmas Tree Farm to my Christmas playlist this year. That might help it grow on me.

S! Nice enough song was just hyped up as something moreso go overshadowed by the other vault tracks

ME! again the hate is a bit OTT dont get me wrong over songs from lover are stronger but I still dont get why this is hated so much

Ronan a gut punch of a track at the time very personal but I get why it doesnt work as a single single

BA nice ballad didnt take off her as was only an IG here and was sandwiched between the huge WANGBT and IkYWT

IBYTAM got overshadowed by ATW10MV for me personally its a great strong track maybe should of released it a little earlier than the album to give it its proper moment

Can understand why these are ranked low, not bad tracks in own right just maybe not single worthy

Onwards now to the songs that just missed my top 50. At #55 is the song that started it all Taylor's debut single Tim McGraw. I can still remember hearing this for the first time., it was after Love Story was released in early 2009. I went to one of the music shops in the city to buy Fearless and noticed they had Taylor's debut album as well, so I picked it up alongside Fearless. So I've always had a bit of a connection with early Taylor, I was also going through a female country singer stage at that time. Over time though this one has slipped down in my placings. Fifteen and Today Was Fairytale are similar, Taylor oes these types of songs so well, there's just others I prefer more. Eyes Open and New Years Day respectively sadly didn't leave a huge mark on me.

  1. New Years Day

  2. Today Was A Fairytale

  3. Eyes Open

  4. Fifteen

  5. Time McGraw

TM a nice little introductory single not my favourite from the album though

Fifteen, good song but a weak follow up ro love story and you belong with me

EO criminally underrated soundtrack single thought she was never gonna take off again after most of the speak now singles did nowt here and the hunger games tracks stalled low but look where we are now

TWAF cute little soundtrack single but she definitely did better during the fearless era

NYD personally would have this higher underrated Reputation track shame it never does enough to chart, always spam it between boxing day and new year myself 😅

Top 50 time and kicking things off is Fortnight ft Post Malone. I've heard this song a fair bit in the past 18 months and it's still hasn't clicked with me. It seems like such a disappointing lead single when compared to the second single. (Granted that The Tortured Poets Department is the only Taylor Swift album I'm yet to hear in full). Coney Island becomes the first single from the Folklore/Evermore eras to drop out, which surprises me a little as I thought there'd be a few gone by now. Lover becomes the third single to drop out from the album of the same name. I've never really liked Look What You Made Me Do but I've softened towards it over the years. It's still not one I'll actively seek out though. Rounding out this batch is Sparks Fly, the 5th single from Speak Now.

  1. Sparks Fly

  2. Look What You Made Me Do

  3. Lover

  4. Coney Island ft The National

  5. Fortnight ft Post Malone

Fortnight understandable strong lead although ICDIWABH was possibly stronger i still play it a lot

CI definitely one of the more forgettable "singles" although given Folklore/evermore rollout we didnt get long with each single other than the leads

Lover strong track (the Shawn mendes remix is marmite though) good choice for a third single but definitely wasn't strong enough to be the lead

LWYMMD one of her strongest leads and the perfect comeback after her social media blackout , definitely marmite but I love it

SF good track as a fifth single understandable low in discography though once you had enchanted Back to December definitely tough acts to follow

#45-#41 time. First up is Ours, the sixth single from Speak Now. Next up is Taylor's duet with Gary Lightbody, The Last Time. I did like this one and it's one I can certainly see placing a lot higher in the future, I think it just needs more plays as I'm just not very familiar with it. Lavender Haze is in at #43, I don't recall much of Midnights sticking with me, but the other two singles are much better for me. Another debut album single is out in the form of Our Song. I really loved this in 2009 but it's one I've gone back to less and less over time. Message In A Bottle places just outside the top 40 at #41. I like it, but at the same time it feels more of a b-side or album track to me. Well I guess in a way it was as it didn't even make the original Red in 2012.

  1. Message In A Bottle

  2. Our Song

  3. Lavender Haze

  4. The Last Time ft Gary Lightbody

  5. Ours

Ours cute song to finish out the era, definitely feels like a bonus track which is probably why it was on the deluxe version only originally

TLT great track in its own right just probably the worst single from read was an interesting choice to follow up a duet with another duet as well

LH, probably a weak follow up to AH (there were better choices on midnights) and it had long since peaked by the time it was made an official single (downside of a huge album opening these days)

OS probably the song most familiar with early swifties one of the strongest tracks from Debut definitely find it better that TM personally

MiAB another good song in its own right but the singles from RTV were all going to get overshadowed by ATW10MV

'Fortnight' is my biggest casualty so far! I can understand why the reception to it is mixed but I personally love those slow burning '80s style synths and the melodramatic storytelling feels quintessentially her. The music video is great too.

I do quite like 'The Last Time' as well from that latest batch.
