Have always and still remain a huge fan of this song, it really deserved far far bigger success the time but rarely i say this when it comes to kylie, thank god for streaming as its helped bring its sales up a nice bit over the years,.

Oh I like this. I remember my siblings liking it, as when ever it came on tv or radio the channel or station never got changed.

Still listen to this so much now - absolute classic.

I think it’s generally well thought of from those that remember it and still racks up decent streams.

It s a nice song and a departure for kylie, but tends to get more praise and airtime than needed

Outside of the song itself lete snot forget it was her working with Nick Cave that led Kylie back to the land of pop so we have alot to be thankful for as has Kylie which she has always acknowledged.

I sometimes do think if where the wild roses grow was the lead single on IP would things have turned out any different?

It's an interesting thought, but given the IP era kicked off two years later I don't know how the timelines would match up. Delay the release of the single by two years or put out an album that wasn't finished/wouldn't be IP as we know it?

From the timelines we now know it wouldn't have worked but had it all been closer in time i think it may possibly have been a great lead as it did catch peoples attention, i know we will never know but while they are not from the same sessions or even close i still associate the song with the IP era.
