  • RAYE’s pushing for the #1 this week! She added a new 7” variant to her shop & restocked the standard 7”, plus the remix helping it too. I got a confirmation email yesterday evening telling me my 7

  • Raye is an independent artist who has only recently found success after years of label and industry battles. It’s ridiculous to even think it’s the same level.

Official Charts Report

Taylor Swift looks to take The Fate Of Ophelia to a fifth non-consecutive week at Number 1 in the UK.

Billie Eilish’s 2017 debut ocean eyes tracks to land its Top 10 debut thanks to the release of a limited edition 7-inch translucent turquoise vinyl (8). The track previously peaked at Number 72 in 2018.

Lewis Capaldi looks to find two tracks inside this week’s Top 20. Former chart-topper Survive benefits from a 12-inch vinyl EP pressing (15), as latest track The Day That I Die expects to earn Lewis a 14th Top 40 single (19).

Charli xcx’s Chains of Love, lifted from the soundtrack of the upcoming Wuthering Heights movie, sits at Number 16 midweek, on course to become Charli’s 23rd Top 40 tune.

And finally, Fred again.., Sammy Virji and Reggie’s Talk Of The Town is exactly that, up four in our First Look (18).

It was this coming week last year that Wham! and Mariah climbed into the top 20 - and the Amazon exclusives started charting.

However already this time last year multiple Christmas hits had charted, whereas this year we only have the two.

It will be interesting to see how Christmassy the top 100 is this coming week.

Could of been weather related too though, didnt we have some snow in a lot of areas this time last year

Possibly. But they actually charted even higher the previous year - which maybe was the colder year.

Hope Lewis Capaldi's new song gonna do descent sales. It's a beautiful song !

Ready for new albums to break up the getting stale album charts. Wishing em all well

5 Seconds Of Summer, Celeste and D-Block Europe all got to #1 with their last albums. Previous opening sales:

Celeste: 22.5k (2021)

DBE: 18.4k (2024)

5SOS: 14.9k (2022)

Seems like any of the 3 could be realistic #1 contenders this week depending on how well their sales hold up / what tactics they're using. Otherwise could be close between Taylor and Olivia. Not the most inspiring line-up of artists but good to have quite an unpredictable feeling week. I see there's also apparently a reissue of an Oasis live album so maybe that could be a spanner?

(Summer Walker's last album did 9.6k to debut at #5 in 2021, but I don't think I'd be anticipating the new one doing much better than that).

I can't imagine Celeste's new album doing that much? It feels like hype has been zero, in fact I didn't even know she had an album out until now.

Yes I think she'll probably be a way off but worth mentioning considering she had the highest opening sales last time. (Also The Last Dinner Party did actually hold up reasonably well with their second album which I didn't expect either so you never know)

Taylor will probably put out signed cds again this week.

The weekly comment

3 minutes ago, Sour Candy said:

That's because she does it weekly!

The albums been out 6 weeks she released signed cds 3 times and sold out in a minute each time so 1 not every week and 2 hardly bucket loads and 3 have you not anything else to be obsessed about 🤭

So you are sure there will not be signed cds this week?

Even if there was this is week 7 thats still not every week is it 🤭

Doves have a best of album out this week as well should be top 20 maybe even top 10 I would think.

I heard Wham! for the first time this year on Saturday.

I was in Greggs and they had either Capital or Heart playing in store.

Doesn't feel right with nearly 6 weeks to go.
