Posted November 18, 2025Nov 18 Ticket touting, which is where ticket resellers reselling tickets for events such as concerts and sports events, is going to be made illegal in the UK. About time, in my opinion. Reselling tickets way above their original price is just extremely greedy.Reselling gig and other tickets above face value to be banned by government - BBC News
November 18, 2025Nov 18 Is it all reselling ? dont get me wrong those selling ridiculous yes im all from making it illegal but some genuinely have reasons why they end up not being able to go but sell their tickets rather than waste them

November 18, 2025Nov 18 That's really great, and such a long time coming. Hopefully it will be easier to get tickets to things in high demand now without touts in the mix, although I won't sell my breath because they will find their ways still (general selling sites, social media, standing outside venues etc).
November 18, 2025Nov 18 Nice easy win for the gov and even bigger for fans, excellent job.(sure, some of its implementations may have a few issues but this is great progress!)
November 18, 2025Nov 18 This is one of those really good policies and workings though that will go completely under the radar.Agree with Iz there is a lot of work to be done to stop loopholes, but I'd like to think this might stop scalpers, or at least decentivise to do them. I'm sure they can still sell through the black market and other ways outside of the third party re-sellers. Won't stop the issue of demand and supply for popular shows, but it makes it a more even playing field.Hate people that purposely biy tickets just to sell them on at a higher price. People will always order too many tickets etc. etc. but fingers crossed this means more real fans can actually attend shows and not have to pay ridiculous prices if they're unsuccessful.

Give them 48-72 hours before the show to get a refund under any circumstance.I’ve tried the refund protection and it’s an absolute SCAM! My friend couldn’t make a show I had booked due to a grievance and unless I asked my friend for the death certificate to send as proof it wasn’t available to be refunded… wtf???Just give me a refund and you still have plenty of time to re-sell… 😭
November 28, 2025Nov 28 Oh the upheaval I had to go through to get a refund when I had COVID and couldn't attend a concert due to it!! Bloody stupid!
