Kicking off page 10 and my top 10 is the joint-lead single to my most anticipated new album, Maisie Peters's 'Audrey Hepburn'. When this was first announced, I would have said it was the safest bet you could ever imagine that this would hit #1 in my chart. However, it ended up having to wait until its fifth week (and a well-timed music video release) to do so, thanks to her decision to surprise release another track I love even more alongside this. 'The Good Witch' was pure-pop and I LOVED IT so going back to her stripped-back roots was a bit of a risk and not what I was hoping for but I was still more than willing to give it a chance. In the end, I love her writing and craftmanship when it comes to lyrics especially so much that I succumbed to this very quickly. This song feels really warm with the guitar and piano evoking the classic styles of old. We haven't really had many pure love songs from Maisie before but I'm glad we got this one. So excited for the new single that's released next week.

Best Part: The hummed post chorus

2025 09 Born Again (LISA feat. Doja Cat & RAYE)

LISA makes it two-years in a row where she bags herself an EOY top 10 while this is RAYE's fist entry in my EOY charts in total while Doja Cat makes her first appearance since 2021. 'Born Again' was released all the way back in February in the middle of a three-week spell where JENNIE, LISA and JISOO all released new solo songs. Initially looking like it could be a big hit, this provided LISA belatedly with her first UK solo top 40 hit making her the last of BLACKPINK to achieve the feat. Originally written and performed by RAYE and leaked as a demo in 2021, I think it was a brilliant decision to get the three artist on board because they have great chemistry and sound surprisingly brilliant together. I really love that they also get ample time to shine with Doja going through her repertoire of different flows and voices and RAYE getting to highlight that she can rap too in the bridge. A boon of all their music after I attended two dates on the 'DEADLINE WORLD TOUR' was the boost this needed to ensure its EOY top 10 position. I still don't quite understand why the three of them got to sign James Bond themes at the Academy Awards last year, but why not?

Best Part: The interplay between the three

Wow that song was quite something production wise - reminded me of Nero - Must Be The Feeling and Martin Garrix/Macklemore/Fall Out Boy - Summer Day!

On the 9th anniversary of her first appearance, Hailee Steinfeld gets her first ever EOY top 10 thanks to her single from her appearance in the massive hit film 'Sinners'. I hadn't seen the film when this was in my chart so was unable to appreciate just how accurate it is for her character and how the intro actually pulls lines directly from the dialogue of the film. But it just goes to show how good of a song it is that I still loved it from its own merits. In fact, at the halfway stage of 2025, it was looking like this could have been on track to be a EOY #1 contender. Writing it over Oscar-winner Ludwig Göransson's movie-score was a genius idea and lends a sense of polish and a cinematic not present in most other pop songs. I don't think Hailee is particularly knows as a vocalist but she proper belts out this one and really makes me wish she would return to the music-side of her multi-hyphenate career. On a side note having now seen the film, I really think Hailee should be involved in any discussions about the top actors of her generation, she is always brilliant in anything she's in and I think she might have the most consistently strong filmography out of anyone working in Hollywood today. Just look back at her films and you will not find one dud and even the all-timers have the odd disaster.

Best Part: The epic production nicked from the score

Alessi rounds off her incredible debut year in my charts with two EOY top 10 hits. The first of these is 'Same Mouth', the lead single to her 2nd EP of 2025, 'Voyeur'. My third most played song of 2025 and for good reason. This a song that gets better the more you listen to it. I've already mentioned how great I think she is at finding memorable melodies and this is a great example of that. The chorus isn't one that immediately jumps out at you but instead sticks with you, haunting you like a ghost. Shouting along to this at the Dua Lipa concert in Liverpool while nobody else around me seeing like they know who she was will always be a fun memory.

Best Part: The outro which is just the chorus sung in a more sombre tone

2025 81 All At Once

Madison Beer makes it a fourth consecutive year in my EOY top 10 (it should really be 6 as 'Baby' and 'BOYSHIT' both deserved it) and the second year in a row at #6 with second-single 'yes baby' matching the first single, the recently uncapitalised 'make you mine'. It's early to say but it seems pretty much nailed on that she will be in 2026's top 10 too with how much I'm loving 'bad enough' currently. Back to 'yes baby' which completed the golden trifecta of the moody dance-pop sound she carved out for herself after 'make you mine' and '15 MINUTES'. All three songs were co-produced by Madison and Leroy Clampitt (with LOSTBOY also appearing on the latest two) and I'm just obsessed with the niche they've created for themselves. Madison's vocals sound incredible over these beats and it sounds so unlike what everyone else is doing. It's a crime that they haven't propelled her into the A-list of pop music yet. Lyrically, this sound is virtually non-existent, a quick count of the lyrics on genius suggests that there's 76 uses of 'baby' and 138 uses of 'yes', but that's not what this song is all about and you will struggle to find anything else last year that matches the pure energy of this. When I first finalised this list, I was thinking that maybe it's gone a little too high on this so the album has been perfectly timed to make me fall back in love with it and think I made the right choice. 'Side to Side', 'Feather', (another song that's still to come in my list) and 'Yes Baby'. Exercise-based music videos always accompany bangers from the pop girls.

Best Part: The mastering of the moody-dance pop phase of her career

2025 10 Audrey Hepburn

2025 20 Say My Name In Your Sleep

The highly-anticipated comeback from Maisie following on her all-encompassing era where she bagged my #1 artist, single and album of 2023, can't quite see her repeat the feat with the single (but with an album coming, don't rule her out in 2026), with 'You You You' landing at #5. Surprise-released alongside the announced single 'Audrey Hepburn, this was the best kind of treat and one I was very happy to accept after living on breadcrumbs for two years. This is the perfect blend of the pop sounds of her last album and the folkier influences of her other new singles. Lyrically, this one is really raw and personal. Maisie really has such a wonderful talent of getting her emotion across in a poetic way without cheapening the impact. I also love the use of the vocoder (which I didn't release I was such a fan of until writing these commentaries) as the robotic effect really sells the concept of losing one's identity to another person. I remember she put a poll on her Instagram after these double-bill was released to see which one people prefer and this was the rightful winner, showing that everyone loves heartbreak songs more than love songs! We're definitely in the repetition section today with Madison's repeated 'yeses' and Maisie's 'yous'. But is just goes to show how well it works to get something stuck in your head.

As the perfect Valentine's gift, JISOO dropped her incredibly long-awaited first solo-EP last 14th February with the lead-single being the electro-pop 'earthquake'. A similar sort of concept to her debut single 'FLOWER', it takes the blueprint and improves on it in almost every way. Smoother production, a catchier hook and more confidence to incorporate lyrics in both Korean and English. Describing the song, JISOO said it "captures the thrill of experiencing first love. [...] I was immediately swept up by this intense, wonderful feeling. It was like butterflies in my stomach" and that's how I felt on my first listen too because I fell in love instantly. She's always been my favourite member in BLACKPINK, despite getting the least to do and almost no promotion in the western world so I treasure the moments where she gets to shine. This has such a fun dance break and I loved seeing JISOO perform the choreography on tour. This re-entered at #2 in my chart after attending the two shows at Wembley Stadium.

This leaves us with the medal positions to give out on Saturday with BLACKPINK either getting a record-equalling 4th EOY #1 or Alessi Rose or Sabrina Carpenter getting their first.

Best Part: The choreography
