Opalite is the second single from the album, so I expect a reset.

taylor’s team made a mistake before not reseting her current single (COUGH ‘Is It Over Now?’ COUGH) so she’ll prolly do it again

  • And as ever we don’t necessarily even know what order they’re really in on Spotify because they might have different premium to free proportions.

  • All too often in this group we have focused too much on Spotify, and then being surprised that the songs doing best on Spotify aren’t always number 1. On Amazon it’s Golden followed by Man I Need. A

No words on when RAYE’s physicals are shipping yet but with this push they’re doing i have no doubt it’ll get a reset. I honestly think we can rule out Ophelia too as it’s falling behind on Spotify & so far her physicals are set to ship for the next tracking week. Honestly kinda hoping Lush Life can go top 10

I honestly think the first #1 of 2026 will either be "Raindance" or "WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!". I hope it's the latter, though.

Wouldn't rule out ophealia it's further ahead on the other platforms and Taylor team has been known to drop physicals early when it suits

Cruel summer was unfortunately doing better

can’t anything be reset if on acr?

The first post-Christmas week has a separate rule for resets, as the market is extremely volatile. Anything that went to ACR in December gets reset, basically. Man I Need went to ACR too early so won't be reset, nor will Golden, but The Fate of Ophelia and WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! should be reset.

Unclear whether Opalite will qualify - in the past it's been one per artist but last year, we got a Teddy Swims double, so we'll see.

Are we expecting particularly low numbers?

The overall units for songs will definitely be significantly lower on 2nd January compared to this current charting week.

Anything but “Ophelia” for #1 please. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get that for one more week and then something else takes over though, a bit like with “Easy On Me”.

Taylor is also releasing limited 7" Ophelia vinyls on 6th January for 24 hours only, so I suspect she really wants to reclaim #1.

She already had the sale but nothing to stop them dropping earlier

Official Charts Report

Fireworks aren’t the only thing set to light up the new year, as the race for the first Number 1 of 2026 officially kicks off.

And early indications suggest that Taylor Swift and The Fate of Ophelia may earn its eighth week at Number 1.

Staying strong during the Christmas period within the Top 40, the record-breaking track is looking to take back its rightful throne.

However, even though the holidays may be over, your 2025 Christmas Number 1 XMAS from Kylie Minogue isn’t letting Taylor win that easily, sitting closely behind at Number 2.

But can RAYE finally take WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! to the top for the very first time after falling agonisingly short of the summit on multiple occasions? (3).

Dave and Tems could find Raindance shooting back into the Top 5 and equal its highest charting position so far (5).

Gwen Stefani’s Shake the Snow Globe has seen a huge surge in popularity lately with that trend continuing as the song tracks to make its debut inside the Top 10 (8).

I Run from HAVEN. featuring Kaitlin Aragon could score a new personal best peak (13).

Zara Larsson and Lush Life has experienced an online resurgence recently and is on course to attain its best charting position since June 2016 (22).

And finally, Tyla’s tune CHANEL which has topped the Official Afrobeats Chart for eight consecutive weeks may make its maiden Top 40 appearance (35).

oh the irony…

Can Shake The Snow Globe actually disappear dear god, what a horrific song

So that's basically resets confirmed for The Fate of Ophelia, WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! and So Easy (To Fall in Love), but not Man I Need or Golden, as expected.
