Starting this week! Kath and I are back to present the Multichart EOY, and jimwatts will be joining us as a co-host this year!

This EOY is compiled in a points-based format based on the weekly Multichart: the #1 each week gets 75 points, the #75 gets 1 point, and so on. You can use that to have an idea of which songs will do well here. Any guesses, hopes, predictions?

Just sneaking into the countdown is 'Stateside', a song which could potentially appear in the 2026 EOY too! PinkPantheress appears a second time in this section with 'Illegal' at #73. Sandwiched in between is actually The Weeknd's only appearance this year; 'Cry For Me' was briefly a hit but ultimately had a short shelf life. Rounding off this section is a pair of album tracks. 'House Tour' isn't an official Sabrina single but that didn't stop Buzzjackers from treating it like one, peaking at #13. And 'Pussy Palace' was without a doubt the fan favorite from Lily Allen's unexpected viral hit album. Her first Multichart top 3 since 'Somewhere Only We Know' went to #1 in December 2013!

Doja Cat's 80s-influenced 'Jealous Type' gives her the first of two appearances in this countdown, this her only one as lead artist. 'Tell Me' was a slow burning hit officially and likewise in the multichart, topping its run with four weeks at #18. Germany's Eurovision entry from Abor & Tynna was the biggest post-contest grower and followed its unexpected UK Top 40 appearance with a multichart top 10 run. The first of four Olivia Dean appearances (three of them solo) in this countdown lands in the dreaded #67 position, although it has since outdone the #7 peak it had in 2025. Justin Bieber's comeback, whose lyrics don't actually include its title, is the first UK #1 to feature here.

We're back, apols for the delay! Making the top 65 by an arm's length (see what I did there) is Sam Fender's first of three entries this year. We have girl-group representation from KATSEYE, who didn't make it with 'Gnarly' but the more palatable 'Gabriela' is here at #64. Olivia Dean appears again with 'Nice To Each Other', which shockingly peaked at just #20 on the Multichart! A 23-week chart run makes up for it though. We're already up to three appearances for PinkPantheress, 'Tonight' is her highest as lead artist but there's one more to come. Gracie Abrams' 'That's So True' didn't have enough charting weeks for the 2024 EOY but carried over for the first 14 weeks of '25 to make it now; #5 was its highest weekly position in either year.

Ed Sheeran may be past his commercial peak but still managed a couple of sizeable hits last year - both made the Multichart top 10, and this is the first to appear. The first of four Tate McRae songs racked up the points to make it in, despite entering in October and missing the top 10. Peaking even lower is the Sam and Olivia duet that refuses to be reined in and could be on the verge of a new peak in the UK chart this week. Sweden's Eurovision entry and sauna anthem by KAJ finished 4th, and grazed the multichart top 10 post-contest in the longest run of any of the year's entrants in this EOY. The year's biggest Afrobeats hit, 'Show Me Love' had an equally long run, as we cross the 750 points barrier.

Jealous Type was very good pity it wasn't more of a chart hit.

'Tonight' is good but it got a bit overshadowed on TikTok by 'Illegal' and obviously now by 'Stateside'. Such a relevant sound anyway by PinkPantheress.
