What other country songs have R1 supported?

Here’s a few of the top of my head:

Kid Rock - All Summer Long (2008)

Taylor Swift - Love Song (2007)

Noah Kahan - Stick Season (2023)

I Had Some Help

Texas Hold ‘Em

A Bar Song (Tipsy)

I wouldn’t say Stick Season is a country song though, more folk.

They recently playlisted Plastic Cigarette too. Didn't they playlist I Remember Everything and Pink Skies as well?

Ooooh interesting to see Leigh-Anne get an add, and also Milky.

Such a bizarre choice of single for Charli when 'Dying For You' is right there.

YOU GET IT

Weird they’ve done that to ‘How It’s Done’.

I think they might’ve playlisted ‘Been A Minute’ but I could be wrong.

Should’ve playlisted DTMF especially as it could be a contender for number 1 next week

it got playlisted last january

So many memories from that playlist. There’s the example of Westlife being C Listed and with what was their most pop sounding hit. Did it go any higher?

Also an example in the pent up demand era of an addition to the playlist higher than the C List for the legend by that stage George Michael. Think he had one more era of support from R1 in 2004! Freak ended up peaking at 7 which wasn’t great for a lead from George, but hey it was 2002 I guess, he’d been around for 20 years at that point (1982 with wham!)

No, "World Of Our Own" remained C-list, by 2002 they were not really getting much Radio 1 support, their 1999/2000 singles did better usually being B-listed. But they were never Radio 1 darlings. I'd say the year boybands got the most support on Radio 1 it was 1998, you would have 911, Five, Another Level, Boyzone, all getting regularly A-listed.

"Freeek!" got A-listed, and yeah he got plenty of support in 2004 too.

The record labels really were trying to build on the TT success.
