The Conan Gray song was a nice discovery - sounds like modern soft rock in the tradition of bands like Foreigner or Chicago. ABBA unbeatable in this round for me.

Please can we be a little more encouraging/supportive; everybody's going to have their own interpretations and opinions on songs each round but I'm not seeing the point in posts pretty much saying 'ffs THIS should've been sent, ridiculous'. Reflect your thoughts with your votes, and I'd hope that everyone will judge each of the songs fairly based on quality.

I think it's a valid discussion to suggest what you might have sent for an artist instead of the song sent, as long as it's done respectfully of course. When I was still in the competition I was very interested to hear what people thought of the songs I picked and their suggestions for what they think I should have picked instead! But I agree that each song should be judged on its own merit.

Yes I find it interesting too! As long as it's done like you say with respect.

I've been looking at comments said about my act's choices and what others might have sent and there's some songs mentioned that I've also considered myself for them ofc as an alternative, and then others stated that I just wouldn't send at all due to my personal taste (sure we all want to do well but I don't want to send songs I don't care about myself to achieve that goal).

Others opinions are always welcome, and inevitable, but we still have play it our own way. As it reminds me a bit of song competition listenthroughs - you could have three or four vocal people say 'WINNER, this is wonderful' and still finish last if nobody else votes for it outside of the hype team. So it's best to play the game with the songs you want to play and like, however others might interpret your choices.

I believe discussing the choices belongs to this contest - otherwise it would be very boring if everyone just lists his/her ranking. When reading this thread I found nothing really offensive. It is interesting to read what everyone would define as a ballad and what not.

A bit of a mixed bag for me this round, but picking my clear faves was easy. Sadly none of the discoveries did very much for me, so it's very much a ranking of two halves!

1 Scissor Sisters - Mary (such a strong debut album, I love every song on it!)

2 Conan Gray - Forever With Me (again, can't go wrong with pretty much anything from Found Heaven but I'm still waiting for my favourite from it to be sent!)

3 Delta Goodrem - Not Me, Not I (there's some brilliant songs on her debut and this one is particularly beautiful - hoping from more from this album in future rounds)

4 Lily Allen - Pussy Palace (OK I've come round to the idea of accepting this as a ballad tbh, another great selection from a great album)

5 Atomic Kitten - The Last Goodbye (always thought this was rather lovely, though as someone else mentioned I would've loved Cradle to have been sent)

6 ABBA - Chiquitita (it's hard to find a bad Abba single, this one isn't among my very favourites but it's nice enough)
