Oh well, my fault for not reading it properly.

I was tempted to switch especially after my first entry got vetoed but wanted to commit to the cause and fortunately had a backup entry that I'm still relatively happy with.

User generated Spotify year playlists are a good start though. Also, if Now have compiled Yearbooks for the year that you have, it's worth checking out their tracklists for some of the more obscure choices on the Extras (or Vaults if you got a year from the first half of the 80s).

My song is just not competitive whatsoever but I've developed a big soft spot for it so going to keep it.

For my year, I came across something that I think is really loved on the forum, and it wasn’t in the UK top 10, but I didn’t dare send it. I think they would’ve vetoed me.

You’ll be vetoed if your song WAS a UK Top 10, not if it wasn’t.

Yeah, but it’s well-known and loved, so because of that.

I’ve done the same, primarily chosen a song because I really love it, though I’m nervous it might not get any votes!

I got vetoed with something that wasn’t a UK Top 10, but the sample that was used 30+ years later made it so popular, that I suppose it warranted a veto of the original!!!

Left looking for an entry for this quite last minute again oops but after a bit of digging I've found something I'm quite happy with.

varying sources online seem to be giving conflicting information about which year it was released in so it's possible I am one year out if the place I found the song is lying to me but I hope I can be given the benefit of the doubt here x

edit: actually just re-read the OP and it says 'either recorded or released in', it was 100% recorded in my year even if maybe technically not released until the following year so I'm good
