Middlesbrough stand to make a further £20.3m as part of a sell-on clause agreed for Morgan Rogers when they sold him to Aston Villa in January 2024.

Boro sold Rogers for £15.5m and a clause was agreed for 20 per cent of any future profit Villa made on the sale of the winger.

It means Boro have made a total of £35.8m on the sale of Rogers - £34.7m of which is profit.

Newcastle have had a £46m verbal offer for midfielder Lucas Bergvall rejected by Tottenham.

Discussions have taken place between the two clubs about the figures it would take to agree a deal for the 20-year-old.

Newcastle are searching for a midfielder to replace Sandro Tonali, who was sold to Spurs in a club-record £100m deal earlier this month.

Aston Villa are in negotiations with AC Milan over the signing of Pervis Estupinan, according to Sky in Italy.

As it stands, there is no agreement between the two clubs for the former Brighton defender, who joined Milan last summer.

Estupinan is viewed by Villa as a potential replacement for Lucas Digne, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain now his World Cup is over.

The French and European champions are planning to trigger his release clause, paying around £8.5m (€10m).

Hull City are in talks to sign Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey.

Sky Sports News understands there is no agreement in place with Villa as things stand.

The 28-year-old has one year left on his contract. Bailey spent the first half of last season on loan at Roma before returning to Villa to bolster Unai Emery's squad in the latter stages of the campaign.
