For the first time in World Cup history, there will be an round of 32 knockout stage where there'll be sixteen matches. which gets underway on Sunday between South Africa and Canada who have both reached the knockout stage round of the World Cup for the first time in their respective World Cups:

Only Meeting between South Africa and Canada:

20/11/2007- South Africa 2-0 Canada (Friendly)

Paraguay are now guaranteed their place in the Round of 32.

As are England, Ghana and Portugal. Still need to confirm exact placements though.

Scotland wishlist for tonight for maximum hope and then heartbreak:

Croatia unexpectedly lose to Ghana by 3 goals, keeping Scotland just about in the running as we move into midnight UK time.

Uzbekistan gain a point or win narrowly, meaning that the third place from Group K doesn't advance.

Austria pay their debt to Algeria by resummoning the spirit of Gijón and play an even worse game than Australia vs Paraguay to put both through into the knockouts, leaving Scotland in 9th in the list of 3rd-placers. As destiny demands.

It all comes down to the Algeria v Austria game to see who progresses between Algeria and Iran.

No more divided attention from here on in. All games will have their own unique kick-off times.

Gonna need some upsets in this round (and with the amount of defensive sides that got through, could well have a few) to set us up nicely for a few unfancied nations to make some deep runs.
