I don't know. Brazil probably has more individual quality than Japan, but there's something special about the Japanese when it comes to football, they've become a really respected team, and I felt they could have gone further. Brazil, on the other hand, didn't look very convincing throughout the tournament and right now I'm sad.

What is it with referees going to VAR and giving ridiculous penalties against Senegal in the last minute of games?

  • I went to bed during the Germany - Paraguay penalties and woke up just in time for the Morocco - Netherlands shootout. 😂

fuck's sake

like there was good play from Brazil in the second half but this Japanese team deserved far better than that, they had them wrapped up in the first half.

I thought Brazil deserved it.

I don't feel like Japan have lived up to the expectations at all in this tournament.

Same. I don’t like this Brazilian team. I hope a top European side stuffs them. A team or individuals beat a Japanese team of hard workers.

Manifesting a Haaland poker against them. 🕯️

It's just delaying the inevitable with Brazil, someone will knock them out of the tournament. They played much better in the 2nd half though today.

I worry for Casemiro in midfield, it was a knife through butter for the Japanese goal.

Paraguay have the edge, and keeping it, by looks of it. Germany seems to be smash and grab, getting nowhere fast, although it's early days yet.

And as Alan Shearer gets something on the end of it and Germany have, 1-1.
