Watched The Story of 2002 last night and then The Story of 2003 on iPlayer this afternoon. Enjoyed the 2002 one more, I'll be honest - good hearing from Liberty X, Keisha and Mutya, Kimberley Walsh and Frankie Bridge(!)

Once again Chris Cowey came across totally pretentious and arrogant. Especially in the 2003 episode and stating why he left. Because it wasn't telling the full story - single sales were starting to go down the toilet that year, and he was producing a show that was already starting to feel wildly out of touch and whose weekly ratings were in trouble.

Whilst Andi Peters had his faults with how he ran the show - more on which when we finally do get to his era proper - he was at least trying to keep the show current, if not always successfully.
