I always thought it was harsh to drop her after a #11, loads of other similar acts in that era did worse than that without being dropped (and the song is an absolute banger!)

I think she probably would've gotten a low top 20 at best with the next single and an album that may have scraped the top 40 anyway, and then been dropped - but still.
