Posted August 10Aug 10 To celebrate the release of the petal, the listening party concept will return this week. We're thinking Wednesday (12th August) if that works for everyone. Maybe a 8:30PM BST start. As a reminder of the concept,, we will all separately press play on 'petal' using our preferred streaming services so we're in sync. We will then listen along together and post any thoughts and comments in this thread. The whole session will last about 36 minutes. I'll post some links for Spotify/Apple Music closer to the time. Here's a link to the one we did for 'eternal sunshine' to give you an idea of the concept.
August 11Aug 11 Would so love to join you, unfortunately I’ll be working. Enjoy! Send my love to ‘like I do’ in advance. ELEVEN.
August 12Aug 12 Here are some links for later! Kicking off in two hours time:APPLEApple Music - Web Playerpetal by Ariana Grande on Apple MusicAlbum · 2026 · 13 SongsSPOTIFYYOUTUBE (I've not used the music videos for the singles as they have dialogue parts)
August 12Aug 12 Author Such a cool way to open the album! The production is so different for her and grabs you right from the start!
August 12Aug 12 'kiss me' keeps getting better for me with each listen 🥰 such a striking opener!Love the instrumental intro so shame on Radio 1 for cutting it down on the chart show
August 12Aug 12 I remember initially being underwhelmed by the chorus of 'hate that i made you love me' but it's been another grower. Pleased it's established itself as a surefire hit for Ari after the initial steep drop on Spotify!
August 12Aug 12 Author hate that i made you love me was a great choice for lead-single. Fits in with the themes of the album perfectly. Her lower register sounds particularly good here. Fun video too!
August 12Aug 12 The video has of course caused controversy but I still think the horror direction of it was really cool, love the choreography too!I struggled with Ari's diction a bit on this one at first but loving the words ever since I watched the visualiser
August 12Aug 12 Author I know petal is not a massively popular choice as a single but I'm not against it. I love the melody of the chorus so much. It's so catchy! It wasn't a favourite from the album on the first couple of listens but it's really landed with me; especially after watching the video a few times. "But I am not the victim, bitch I'm practically drowning in my blessings" is one of my favourite lyrics on the album.
