Good grief the AI song is gonna go number one isn't it, music is dead

It's better than She Doesn't Mind and Puerto Rico Song though.

She's choosing a #3 peak I can tell

Everyone had her nailed on for number 1 and I just didn't feel it. She's flatlined it seems

Looks like 3 might be choosin texas final peak unless it can somehow dodge ACR

So happy Movin to the Sun is ahead of "this"

Agreed.

I reckon I don't think I'll ever get bored of this song

Me neither, dude. Me neither.

I’m hoping Dolly Parton stays at number 1 on Spotify so she can go number 1 next week if Rein Me In goes to ACR

I'm no lover of Movin' to the Sun by any means but I do think it's fair to distinguish between fully AI generated slop "songs", and something like Movin' to the Sun, which in its final version is actually made by humans (albeit assisted along the way by AI in its early stages). Not quite the same thing (although I'd quite happily see AI nowhere near the music creation process anyway)

Its sort of stagnant. It was saved one week of decline last week due to market average. The previous week it was behind mid week and rallied by the end. This week she's a few hundred short mid to mid but that again could put her in the range of market decline unless the Dolly streams have pulled that up

Biography

Sam Fender crafts the kind of tenacious anthemic rock that punches straight at the gut. Born and raised in 1994 in the northeastern English town of North Shields, the singer/songwriter first picked up a guitar at age 10 and began playing gigs locally as a teen to help support him and his mother. But it wasn’t until he started writing music for himself—rather than what he thought others wanted to hear—that everything started to click. That’s when he wrote his 2017 debut single, “Play God”, a propulsive, politically charged slice of indie rock. It came from a place of deep desperation, “a time where I was like, ‘I need to prove myself. I need to do something that cuts through,’” he told Apple Music. The track earned him a slot on BBC’s Sound of 2018 shortlist, which led to a deal with Polydor Records and the release of his acclaimed 2019 debut, Hypersonic Missiles, an album that channels modern-day anxiety through heartfelt heartland rock. His 2021 follow-up, Seventeen Going Under, hit even harder, pumped full of soaring arrangements and bold statements that continue to prove Fender’s power as a mighty millennial voice for the working class. - Apple Music

Hope that this is RMI's last ever week at #1. It's been there for far too long.

Same.

A record 29 consecutive weeks in the top 5 for Rein Me In beating 28 by I Believe by Frankie Laine back in 1953.

New peak for HUGEL but not even mentioned by Jack as being a contender at the start of the show lol

I need people to realise that the contenders are just names the producers think people care about. No one cares about Hugel

Hugel somehow snatching number 1 away from Sam/Olivia would have made this rough chart week feel better, shame.

Biography

Alex Warren stepped out from behind the phone and into the recording studio to introduce his passionate, ultimately chart-topping singer-songwriter pop. After founding the TikTok collective Hype House, Warren turned from his patented prank videos to music. By 2021, he was crafting quivering, sensitive, confessional pop tunes that slather his open-hearted melodies with layers of gossamer electronics, providing Warren with an avenue to process the trauma of losing both of his parents at an early age. The California native charted abroad in early 2024 before making his Billboard Hot 100 debut with "Burning Down" from his debut EP, You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1). In 2025, Warren landed a global smash hit with "Ordinary", included on his full-length debut You'll Be Alright, Kid, which added 11 songs to the initial EP and features collabs with ROSÉ and Jelly Roll. - Apple Music
