They have worked with the girls much more than darkchild. The only unreleased song title we know from Absolute is Still Got It, which is a GEM song. It’s interesting Geri, Emma and Mel B worked with Eliot Kennedy and Absolute during this time period on new material. I would bet Absolute does have some unreleased Spice Girls tracks in their archives. They probably haven’t registered them because they don’t think they will ever see the light of day.
Saturday at 18:124 days 4 hours ago, Mr.X said:The sessions in April booked when they decided to go full R&B with Rodney at the helm and it was only then because Mel C and the others' schedules didn't match. Then they didn't record all songs so they had to book more sessions. For all we know, they had other demos that just weren't deemed good enough so they tried another session in July.Anyway, these are just suppositions. this is another confusing story. Geri mentioned that before she left, she knew the other girls would want to go for more RnB direction which was not her taste. But then when the other four started workong on the third album, they started with pop instead.

But then when the other four started workong on the third album, they started with pop instead. That's a bullshit story from Geri, sorry. They had done quite a lot of r&b by the time she had left (Spice has quite a lot of r&b in it).The original plan was to go pop + r&b blend on the third album. They started recorded with both the pop and r&b producers in both late 1998 and throughout 1999. It was only when the album was delayed to 2000 that they went full on r&b...From what we know, only two pop songs survived those sessions, RBAY and WOMAN but the latter got scrapped as well. I seriously doubt they would have done only two songs in April and two songs in July... they were together for weeks working in the studio, that usually means more demos are recorded/songs written...
Sunday at 06:223 days According to the book by David Sinclair, they only spent a few days recording in April (and without Melanie C), and those three tracks were Get Down WIth Me, Tell Me Why and Time Goes By. Then they resumed again in July, trying to reworking RBAY and W.O.M.A.N., only RBAY sounded fit with the album so they wrote and recorded Wasting My Time to complete Forever album tracks. Yesterday at 00:361 day I wasn't sure where to post this! It's not really to do with the singles box set, but anyway -New digital EPs of Say You'll Be There, 2 Become 1 and Mama/Who Do You Think You Are have been released today! It's also the 30th anniversary of Say You'll Be There's release today. The track lists match what will be included on the CDs in the box set.New to download/streaming:Say You'll Be ThereSingle EditJunior's X BeatsKurt's DubKaraoke Version2 Become 1Seremos 1 Los 2 - Versión En EspañolInstrumentalKaraoke VersionMamaInstrumentalKaraoke VersionWho Do You Think You AreMorales Bonus MixKaraoke Version (although its sharing the play count of the Radio Version - everything else listed above has no play count data yet)Unlike the Wannabe EP released back in July, these three new EPs have not been backdated to 1996/1997. Currently they're showing up as new 2026 releases with release dates of 14th October. Whether their team will eventually backdate them remains to be seen. Having them show up as new releases is a good thing for visibility, which the Wannabe EP didn't really get from immediately behaving as a 1996 release at the bottom of their Spotify page. The same goes on Apple Music in regards to Wannabe set to 1996 and the three new releases being 2026. Also on Apple Music, all four of these EPs are appearing in their Albums section, not Singles section. On Spotify, the original digital releases of both Say You'll Be There and 2 Become 1 are now hidden away from their page. Clicking the drop down "x more release(s)" on desktop Spotify is the place to find the old versions. The same goes for Mama / Who Do You Think You Are. However, the separate and original release of Who Do You Think You Are / Mama is currently still accessible through their single page, presumably because that particular release has technically not been replaced in terms of title. I assume this also means that the Holler remix EP will remain accessible just like WDYTYA/M, but the Holler/Let Love Lead the Way release currently available will eventually get replaced by an expanded version. If their team doesn't make amendments to the release dates, they're going to end up out of order in terms of original release dates! That's already the case with these new three releases:Gosh I wrote more than I intended to lol, anyway here are the Spotify embeds. EDIT: Oh I have omre to write xxThe play counts on Spotify of the newly released Wannabe mixes are quite low...But like I wrote earlier, that's probably not helped by not being displayed as a new release at the time. It'll be interesting if the three releases today will get better streams. Trust their team to somewhat bury the Wannabe EP on Spotify. P.S. A bit odd that the Wannabe Instrumental has a play count of 4,525. Instrumental was always available in the digital era. Navigating to the previous version of the Wannabe EP and the Instrumental included on that shows a play count of 695,161. So for some reason Spotify considers them to be different audio.

I think eventually they will correct those Spotify mistakes. In terms of the Wannabe remixes being so low on streams - as far as I know, they didn't even advertise or even post anything about the EP itself, it went completely unnanounced back then, as the focus was on Wannabe tiny vinyl. They sent out a newsletter today about the Say You'll Be There EP and I would imagine they will do similarly to the upcoming 2 Become 1 and WDYTYA/Mama EP as well...

Still can’t believe Universal Music Group teased this release. They wasted a lot of goodwill on such a lackluster release.
