Posted February 21, 200719 yr Kaiser Chiefs eye first singles chart-topper Source: Music week Mika’s reign at number one on the UK singles chart with Grace Kelly could be over this weekend as Kaiser Chiefs (pictured) target their first-ever singles chart-topper. Casablanca/Island’s Mika has to date spent five weeks at the top of the countdown, but he faces a renewed challenge from B Unique/Polydor’s Kasier Chiefs whose single Ruby’s sales have been boosted this week by the introduction of a physical format to add to its digital showing. Early retail reports suggest it will be one of Mika and Kaiser Chiefs at number one this Sunday, while chart progress is also predicted for the RCA Label Group’s Fray with How To Save a Life and Kelis featuring Cee Lo’s Virgin-issued Lil Star, which is expected to move into the Top 10 following the release yesterday (Monday) of a physical format. Other tracks expected to make strong chart climbs because of the new availability of a physical format include Fascination/Polydor’s Sophie Ellis-Bextor with Catch You, the RCA Group’s Beyonce with Listen and the Defected-issued Dare Me (Stupidisco) by Junior Jack featuring Shena. Mika’s chart-topping status on albums is also under threat as Brit-winning Amy Winehouse eyes a return to number one with her Island release Back To Black. Mika’s Life In Cartoon Motion faces competition from an array of Brit winners, including Fiction/Polydor’s Snow Patrol with Eyes Open, Vertigo/Mercury’s The Killers with Sam’s Town and Polydor acts Take That (Beautiful World) and James Morrison (Undiscovered), while the RCA Group’s Fray are aiming to add a top five album to a Top 10 single. Their newly-issued How To Save A Life is expected to head the new entries in what is a quiet week for new albums with other arrivals in the Top 40 expected to include Johnny Cash’s Columbia-issued At San Quentin and Lost Highway artist Lucinda Williams with West. =============================================================================== Singles 01 Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby (9k) 02 Mika - Grace Kelly (8k) 03 The Fray - How To Save A Life (4k) *download* Top 10 Kelis feat. February 22, 200719 yr Well done to Kelis, I was worried she wouldnt make the top 5 lol! I just wish Beyonce was a lil higher, her vocals are amazing in "listen"
February 22, 200719 yr Is there any chance Kelis could climb, maybe due to Saturday chavs? I don't know that much but I doubt it, she only just took over The Fray and I think she was #06 on Mon/Tuesday  Still Top 3 is an AMAZING comeback for Kelis IMO
