Posted February 27, 200719 yr Anti-war song heading for top 10 placing Source: Music week An anti-war protest song only available as a download is on its way to a Top 10 placing in this week’s singles chart, according to midweek sales figures. The song, which is currently inside the top five, is a cover of Edwin Starr’s War (What Is It Good For?) by a band called Ugly Rumours – the same name as Tony Blair’s university band. It is available as a £1.50 download, with all proceeds going to the Stop The War Coalition, and its launch follows a major peace march in London on Saturday, where the song was promoted. Also new in the Top 10 is The Gossip’s re-released Standing In The Way Of Control, while Take That appear on course to replace Kaiser Chiefs at number one. Better news for Kaiser Chiefs is that their new album, Yours Truly Angry Mob, is on course for the top spot, ahead of Take That and Amy Winehouse. February 27, 200719 yr Since the album sales will count towards sales for Ruby too I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Kaisers get a second week at no.1 in the singles. Shoo-in for the album chart. Take That might be in with a shout otherwise.

February 27, 200719 yr Not surprised TT are 2 in the album charts. Is there a big diifference in sales i between TT & Kaiser Chiefs? TT are doing radio promo for the tour & their album is getting prime time tv advertising.
