October 22, 200717 yr What's interesting is even if Spygate had never happened Ferrari would still have won the Constructors Championship given McLaren's loss at Hungary.
October 22, 200717 yr  This whole thing is ridiculous, Ron Dennis and McLaren should go away, come back next season and try again. They've already been idiots enough times this season without doing all this. Let Kimi Raikonnen enjoy his victory ^_^
October 22, 200717 yr Exactly Ron is saying that the drivers benefitted from this "illegal" fuel and therefore should be punished so presumably he feels the same now then that his drivers should be punished over Stepney-Gate as the drivers benefitted from the team's cheating ;) amazing how selective his memory is, maybe he has alzheimers or something as he seems to forget that only 6 weeks ago he said that it is unfair to punish the drivers for a team mistake (Stepney-Gate) And Mike Gascoyne one of the most respected technical guys in F1 has said that this so called advantage worked out to around 1 sec over the entire race so no difference at all given the Beemers were about half a minute ahead of Hamilton If Dennis wants drivers punished for a team error like in Brazil then equally Hamilton should lose all his WDC points ;) spot on. damon hill has claimed that the FIA have swung decisions against McLaren all season. my god damn arse, they have been let slide on so many things
October 23, 200717 yr hamilton "i dont want to win on a technicality", "kimi won fairly", spoken like a true sportsman.
October 23, 200717 yr Author Well I think Ron should shut up and make his point on the track next season, I'm convinced nothing can stop Lewis next season now and the way he's handled everything I'd vote him for Sports pesonality of the year, even over Frankie Detori!
October 23, 200717 yr Well I think Ron should shut up and make his point on the track next season, I'm convinced nothing can stop Lewis next season now and the way he's handled everything I'd vote him for Sports pesonality of the year, even over Frankie Detori! Depends on the car McLaren will be hampered by the FIA checks on the MP4-24 and by being in the smallest garage in the paddock and also $100m hole in their budget next season so it would not be a surprise if Ferrari is faster next season. Lewis has potential yes but will depend on the car he is given
October 23, 200717 yr It's more than 100m because they won't get any money for this season considering they've 'finished' bottom, surely?
October 23, 200717 yr Depends on the car McLaren will be hampered by the FIA checks on the MP4-24 and by being in the smallest garage in the paddock and also $100m hole in their budget next season so it would not be a surprise if Ferrari is faster next season. Lewis has potential yes but will depend on the car he is given McLaren have about as much chance of winning the World Championship next year as Tottenham Hotspur have of winning the Premiership this season. If I was Ron Dennis & the team, I'd focus on the 2009 season. Still I look forward to the forthcoming documentary of Channel 4 Dispatches investigation programme with an episode on the "special relationship" between Max Mosely, Jean Todt & Fiat in November and the impact it may have had on the neutrality & supposed fairness within Formula 1 and decision making this season. ;)
October 29, 200717 yr Hamilton is off to live in Switzerland ^_^ Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton is to move to Switzerland to escape the excessive public and media attention he has had in Britain over the last year. The McLaren driver, who came second in the drivers' championship in his debut F1 season, will join Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen in Switzerland. "Over there people don't come up to you, they leave you alone and give you space," the 22-year-old told BBC Sport. "I'm going to a country that I don't know but it's very exciting." Interview: Lewis Hamilton Ironically, the news comes the day after his home town of Stevenage announced that it was naming a street after the McLaren driver. November 2, 200717 yr fuc.k me over with a barge pole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o News Alonso/McLaren split confirmed Friday, 02, November, 2007, 12:25 In a widely expected move, the 26-year-old Spaniard has agreed terms to terminate his agreement with the Woking squad after just one season of his three-year contract. Alonso made no secret of the fact at the start of the season that McLaren was the team he had always wanted to race for – but after a turbulent year admits things didn't pan out as he had hoped. “Since I was a boy I had always wanted to drive for McLaren, but sometimes in life things do not work out," said Alonso in a team statement. "I continue to believe that McLaren is a great team. "Yes, we have had our ups and downs during the season, which has made it extra-challenging for all of us, and it is not a secret that I never really felt at home. "I know there have been suggestions of favouritism within the team and people say a lot of things in the heat of battle, but in the end I was always provided with an equal opportunity to win. "Today’s decision allows all of us to focus on 2008, and I wish the team, Vodafone, Banco Santander, Mutua Madrileña and all the other team partners who I have worked closely with during the year, the best for the future.” Despite these words, Alonso's bitter relationship with McLaren since joining from Renault has been well publicised. His relationship with team boss Ron Dennis is believed to have broken down after the Spaniard publicly criticised McLaren for not providing him with the support he felt he deserved as a double world champion. This was not helped by the unexpected pace of his rookie team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who settled into the team faster and more successfully than Alonso did. The situation became irretrievable when the Spaniard threatened to reveal evidence of the team's involvement in the 'Spygate' scandal during a heated row in Hungary. This not only angered the team's management, but the entire team, to the point where Alonso cast a lonely figure during the last few races of the season. Dennis later revealed in a World Motor Sport Council hearing that he was no longer on speaking terms with his driver. There was a further twist at the title-deciding round in Brazil when, following comments made by Alonso regarding favouritism and a request from the Spanish motorsport authority, the FIA took the unprecedented step of placing a scrutineer in the team to ensure fair play. In its statement announcing Alonso's departure, McLaren admitted the relationship had not evolved in the way it had hoped and that both parties had agreed it was better to part ways. “Everybody at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes want to wish Fernando all the best for the future," read the statement. "He is a great driver but for some reason the combination of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Fernando has not really worked out, and in the end we reached a stage where none of us could find a way to move forward. "We all believe that our joint decision to part company is for the best, and we will now continue to focus on our 2008 World Championship challenge.” Alonso's destination remains undisclosed, though he has been linked with a move to Red Bull Racing, a return to Renault and has received big money offers from Toyota and Honda. Renault's Heikki Kovalainen and Williams' Nico Rosberg are both believed to be in the frame to replace Alonso alongside Hamilton.                :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: this is officially the happiest i have been (f1 related) since renault and alonso first won the world championship in 2005
November 2, 200717 yr at least its official at last!!!!!! "hes coming home, hes coming home, Alonsos coming home
November 2, 200717 yr According to Radio 5 Live FA is strongly expected to drive for Red Bull for one season, with David Coulthard moving to McLaren. No doubt FA will then move to Ferrari the following season which will delight Craig. :coffee: FA had to leave McLaren, as it was the 1988 season all over again but with a big difference. In that season the relatively inexperienced new McLaren driver Ayrton Senna out drove his then World Champion team mate Alain Prost. Incidentally this has been the first season since that a World Champion has been out-performed by team-mate since 1989. In that season Alain Prost became increasingly annoyed (although at least he did not publicly behave like a baby throwing all his toys out of the pram) as it is well documented that Prost was far better at testing & getting the car set-up to it's maximum potential, only for his racing team-mate to blow him away on qualifying & race day. The big difference between FA & AP is that AP got his focus together the following season, stayed in the same team with the new World Champion Ayrton Senna and out-performed him to regain the World Title despite Senna gaining 13-2 pole positions that season ahead of Alain Prost (who moved to Ferrari the following season despite having signed the deal before the beginning of the 1989 season) because Ron Dennis did not believe in having a #1 & a #2 driver. All Fernando Alonso has proved this season is that he is not as good at least mentally as the great Alain Prost. Whether Lewis Hamilton goes on to prove he is as good as Ayrton Senna we will have to wait and see what he does in the next five years as he could end up being another Jacque Villeneuve or Jenson Button (especially with the early worrying signs of going into tax exile at the earliest opportunity; & his celebrity appearances at the National TV Awards & MTV Europe Music Awards on consecutive days).....
November 2, 200717 yr i hope he goes nowhere near red bull. and he won't drive for ferrari, if hes throwing toy out of his pram with a moron like hamilton in the car next to him. imagine what he would be like with a good driver
