April 19, 200719 yr I always thought that B/S would start to pull away sooner or later. Gap is getting alot bigger now!
April 19, 200719 yr ALTHOUGH IM NOT A FAN OF THE BEYONCE SHAKIRA DUET IM GLAD THEY ARE BEATING THE ARCtic monkeys as i think the arctics are the most ove rrated and over hyped band for many many years i thought natasha bedingfield would easily make top 5 and i hope she does
April 19, 200719 yr Author The Sun's Report 1. Beyonce and Shakira 15,200 2. Arctic Monkeys 13,700 If it wasn't for the Freemasons mix, AM would have been #1

Did think their first single from a new album would easily make No.1 though, so rather surprised.
April 19, 200719 yr If it wasn't for the Freemasons mix, AM would have been #1 If it wasn't for the Freemasons mix, Beautiful Liar wouldn't deserve to be No.1...The Freemasons have worked wonders on the singles from Beyonce's album
April 19, 200719 yr well i like both versions of Beautiful Liar but the original and remix are complete opposites. the freemaons remix is more commercial where as the original is more exotic and fusion. i think its more than worthy getting #1 with the original version, its a quality track the way they fuse the mariachi flavored horn section fanfare when beyonce says her name and then shakira its like they are being announced at a gala. the mid-tempo beat with the hip-thrusting arrangement, then add to that the middle eastern strings. its hypnotic and effective then comes the flamenco hand claps and spanish guitar, its such a well constructed track, well thought out fusing R'n'B, latin and arabic sounds. interesting fact: shakira produced the instrumental dance break in the original when they dance together in the video wearing black
April 19, 200719 yr If it wasn't for the Freemasons mix, AM would have been #1 That REALLY pisses me off  It's not the actual song so why should it count? As it's another song then anyone individually downloading the other songs from the EP should count as a sale for Brianstorm, just because it's a remix doesn't make it the same song, it's still two different. -_- Why do songs I really like always get kept off by what ends up being one of the worst #1s on the year? :(

I do think the remix of Beautiful Liar should be counted as many people prefer this as it is played most on Radio 1, however I imagine the radio edit is still the biggest selling of the two... However, I agree with your point about the AM b-sides. If they weren't available to download separately then a lot more people would have gone out and bought the physical single which could have swayed the battle in their favour the OCC will have a problem with this one day because if a popular mash-up appears on a b-side will it be counted towards the a-side if a lot of people download it as it is essentially a different song...I wouldn't say Can't get blue monday out of my head is anything like Can't get you out of my head but if these songs were out now would they all count towards the same song and position in the chart?
April 19, 200719 yr yea the freemasons remix is the only reason i downloaded the song, otherwise id want Arctics number one but two weeks in a row ive loved the top two!!!!!!
April 19, 200719 yr am i the only one who thinks the Freemasons remix is $h!t? I don't think it's $h!t but I prefer the original :)
