May 20, 200719 yr Author 21 (from 15) Jamie T - Sheila [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/VSCDT1936.JPG Chart Run 2006: 22-36-51-68-75R(12) Chart Run 2007: 46-34-15-21 Release date: 7-5-2007 Availability: normally ships in 24 hours Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: VSCDT1936 Label: VIRGIN Don't be fooled by his MC like moniker. Jamie T is a tall, skinny lad from the south-west London suburb of Wimbledon, obsessed by The Clash, Tom Waits, Rancid and The Specials as much as he's influenced by the garage and drum'n'bass raves he grew up attending. Armed with an acoustic bass guitar, Jamie has rocked the backrooms of London pubs, playing his solo show of tales of suburbia and what it is to be a young English gentleman growing up under Tony Blair. 'Sheila' is the latest release from Jamie's acclaimed and award-winning debut album 'Panic Prevention', and is one of the first tunes Jamie ever wrote. Full of typically Jamie T pithy one-liners and a massively upbeat sing-a-long chorus ("Sheila goes out with her mate Stella, which she pours all over her fella"), it's actually a bleak tale of drunken misadventure ending up in tragedy as the "Paramedic announced death at 10.30". - HMV Video here: xOpG86tTiyQ track listing 1. May 20, 200719 yr If Jamie didn't have such a strong East London accent it would sound awesome. At least he isn't trying to sound American.
