Wooh I always love the period episodes! Hope people are a bit kinder than this episode than the last few...

Well..........!

That was hands down the best episode of the series so far!! The scarecrows were nicely menacing, the plot was wonderfully twisty, and it had the kid from Love Actually in it.

9 and a half/10!

I was wondering where I had seen him before!

Jessica Stevenson was brilliant and it was nice for once to see the Doctor not able to save the world - though that moment with the cricket ball was a larf!

10/10, easily.

hmm... I was pretty lost in it actually, I do like the period related stories, its got a touch of a Jon Pertwee/Tom Baker period epsiodes to it, good story, it be interesting how the next episode develops.

8/10

Worst performance by Freema though, the actress has not got the edge that Billie had.

:o I thought it was her best episode tbh!

Well, she had more to do than usual

Nice to see Jessica Stevenson in it, she's brilliant in Spaced.

I usually don't like the period episodes but I really liked this episode, can't wait for next week.

9/10

I completely agree, the best of the newest series so far.

Brilliant plot, just confusing enough to keep attention, and at times I was geniuinely nervous/frightened. Can't wait to see next weeks!

I also thought it was Freema's best!

10/10

I agree, it was a great episode. I'm a glad it was a 2-parter, looking forward to next week's episode.

10/10

I've watched it this morning.

I loved it. Reminded me of classic weird Tom Baker era Dr Who episodes. It was very Roald Dahl's Tales Of The Unexpected = Dark & very strange. Great to see Jessica Stevenson.

However, this episode has finally proved that Freema is not up to scratch as a top actress as the brilliant performances by David & Jessica put her massively in the shade, and that is without even mentioning the actress who played the previous Dr Who assistant who has since gone on to critical acclaim in a couple of costume dramas.

9.5 out of 10.

I totally agree with that point, Billie was great in the Sally Lockhart Mysterious, she really pulled it off

Freema is a different kind of actress though. She would never be cast in a period drama but she did absolutely great in a one-off period episode like this. People have to remember that she is not Billie - shes a different actress.
once again. mid-season = sleeping pills. hope they step up their game otherwise im just gonna stick to Torchwood

I didn't know what to make of it after the first 10 minutes, but as it rumbled along it became very good  and I was on the edge of my bed  (I did watch it at like 1 this morning) by the end. Best so far :D

9.5/10

I just hope they don't mess the 2nd half up like they did with the Daleks story
