would be written [ spoiler ] OMG today's e4 episode!!! [ / spoiler ]

(but without the spaces)

Hollyoaks has got much better at the moment - Don't like th whole Sasha storyline though but the Osborne one has me HOOKED!

Well done AMY!, But how long will she be staying away from him for?

The best line from Hollyoaks maybe ever has to be from tonights e4 episode, care of (ex) Father Kieron:

"Look...I'm not taking advice from a banana"

  Had me in stitches!

Well someone's looking a bit rough, aren't they Sasha?
Ricky Whittle is 36? Wow.

Randomly bored, so thought I'd see what everyone's opinions are on the "deadwood" on the show? (It's always fun to rant).

Which characters/actors are so bad they just need removing from existence? Which characters have potential but are so badly underused, or not given the right material, that they just completely fade into the background?

For me...

AXE

Ravi

Maybe it's too early for me to judge, but the character is unappealing, and the acting not great. No positives whatsoever.

Sasha

The drug storyline has been well-written, the gradual decline of Sasha has been documented well. But the story just isn't connecting aswell as it should do, and that's because of the poor choice of character to give it to.

Sasha was completely under-developed until this plot, and the actress is by far the most wooden of the teenage crew. And so it's hard to feel any sympathy for her. It's difficult not to feel that the drug plot would have been much more effective with Josh or Michaela instead.

Lauren

Again, just TOO wooden. An interesting character though, so maybe what's needed is a Clare Devine style recast rather than a complete axing.

BADLY NEEDS A STORYLINE

Zak

I'm not quite sure why they bothered to re-introduce him. He had one fleeting moment when he got tangled up in the Zoe/Will mess well over a year ago. And since then? Nothing but the occasional appearance in the SU bar being turned down by a random female extra.

It's a shame, because the character is one of the more likable on the show.

Gilly

He really doesn't do a lot other than play sidekick to Rhys. Which is odd, because Gilly is much more appealing AWAY from being pally-pally with Rhys; when he was trying to keep tabs on Hannah's bulimia and other instances when he's been more of a family member to the Ashworths than Rhys.

Clearly the writers see Rhys and Gilly as the new Max and OB. But Rhys is just too smug and unlikable a character, and it does drag poor old Gilly down.

Josh

When he's been given something to sink his teeth into (attacking Mike in self-defence for example), Josh has been quite a watchable character. So why has he been completely pushed into the background? He's made about 5 appearances this whole year. SORT IT OUT.

BADLY NEEDS A CHARACTER REBOOT

Tina

I would be a lot more sympathetic to Tina if the writers had bothered to show her doing something more than just whining all the time before the surrogacy plot. They need to try and gradually bring back the light-hearted side to her marriage with Dom.

I TOTALLY Agree with your choices... in fact change the Sasha to the Whole of the Valentines clan apart from that one that used to play bernice in emmerdale :heehee: and MAYBE Calvin.

Cant wait for the supposed psycho he turns out to be though

ESPECIALLY get rid of that Dimwit DANNY! (I think thats his name) I meant the one that went out with Hannah anyway

I would have put Danny down aswell but

he's leaving anyway. The actor was fired recently for turning up late all of the time, same scenario was with the guy who played Sonny

.

Shoat, Your wish might come true soon. Apparently

Zak gets tangled up in the Mike/Zoe romance..

.

I agree about the Sasha storyline. I keep thinking it would have been better if someone like Michaela had the drugs plot instead. The actress who plays Sasha is not really good...

But Michaela already had quite a big part in that at the VERY START of the storyline though didnt she? If you remember she kept getting set-up

Oh yes, of course. And when she was drugged by Niall?

I totally forgot about all that!

Gavin And Stacey star James Corden has hit out at his former Hollyoaks colleagues.

Source: uk.news.yahoo.com/press association

Corden, 29, had a small role in the Channel 4 soap eight years ago.

Since then, the co-creator and star of romantic sitcom Gavin And Stacey has become one of TV's hottest properties.

The sitcom won two Baftas after making its debut on BBC Three and Corden is now executive-producing a pilot of the show in the US.

Corden, who graces the front cover of Esquire, told the magazine of his stint in Hollyoaks: "I'd actually rather die than go back.

"I can't tell you the sheer disdain I have for the place and the people. I met a couple of really good friends there, but it's (only) 20% nice people".

The former jobbing actor added: "... all these people walking around with this chicken-in-a-basket fame, talking about going to LA, you know?"

He said of the success of Gavin And Stacey: "Every aspect of my life, personally and professionally, feels so different.

"The stakes feel so much higher than they were. It's inconceivable to me that I could be on the cover of a magazine, because people on a magazine don't look like me."

Corden, who has become an unlikely sex symbol, said: "I must be the biggest fella you've put on the cover of Esquire, mustn't I?"

Of course most of the cast is completely different since he was in the show, so how would he know

what they're like now?

This Sasha storyline is really making Hollyoaks c**p at the moment.

I'd give the b**ch a months worth of drugs just so she could OD and dissappear off the screen.

It seems being a "young Valentine" - the actors playing Sonny and Danny being fired is a bit of a poisoned chalice and is being awarded to youngsters who just get arrogant as they spend time in the soap. What's the betting the actor who plays Danny gets involved in wrong-doing off the set in real life like Sonny did?

I hope this Newt thing ends too - lock him up!

friday's was a proper cliffhanger :w00t: cant wait for tonights!

The bits in Zak's head were hilarious! I loved the one where he was about to stab Mike with that pool cue :heehee:

From MSN:

Hollyoaks character Malachy will be diagnosed as being HIV positive.

The storyline unfolds as Malachy, played by Glen Wallace, embarks on a romance with Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) - and seems to be falling in love for the first time.

But his life is turned upside down when he goes to give blood and the results reveal his diagnosis. As he faces a future with HIV, Malachy refuses to deal with the problem and rather than share the news with Mercedes, he goes missing.

A scorned Mercedes then ends up sleeping with his brother Kris (Gerard McCarthy) in an act of revenge and Malachy's silence puts their lives in danger too.

With both Kris and Mercedes' health at risk, the storyline illustrates the important role that the PEP drug - Post Exposure Prophylaxis, a course of medication that can stop someone becoming HIV positive after being exposed to the virus - has to play in the treatment of HIV patients.

Glen said: "We have a fantastic opportunity to do this with Malachy's storyline as it's a relevant and very much a real-life issue."

Gerard, whose character Kris will undertake the PEP treatment, added: "Before reading the scripts, I was unaware of the medical developments made to help people living with HIV.

"There are a lot of myths surrounding this issue and we are hoping to dispel quite a few, but at the same time tell a very heartfelt story of two brothers on a frightening journey together."

Can't wait to see how this is all portrayed.

xXx
