Rihanna looks set to stay atop the singles chart for the third week running, with Umbrella featuring Jay-Z (Def Jam).

It has already sold 10,000 more copies than Beyonce and Shakira’s Beautiful Liar (Columbia), which despite nine weeks in the chart is currently sitting at number two.

But it looks like there will be very little difference in sales this week for all other top five entries, with Mutya Buena’s Real Girl (Fourth & Broadway), Maroon 5’s Makes Me Wonder (A&M/Octone) and Hellogoodbye’s Here (In Your Arms) (Drive Thru) all likely to shift a similar amount of units, making for a close contest.

New entries are sparse on the ground this week, with the only releases likely to make much of an impact in the Singles Top 75 coming from Simply Red with Stay (Simplyred.com), on for the Top 20, and Marilyn Manson’s Heart-shaped Glass (Interscope), which may make the Top 30.

In the albums chart, indie-poppers Maroon 5 look set to hold the top spot for a second week running with It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (A&M/Octone). Linkin Park’s Minutes To Midnight (Warners) is second.

The highest new entry, currently sitting at number three, comes from newcomers the Pigeon Detectives with Wait For Me (DTTR). Their debut has sold only 14 fewer units than Linkin Park so far.

More new entries into the Top 20 are likely to come from Chris Cornell with Carry On (Interscope) and R Kelly’s Double Up (Jive).

Meanwhile Amy Winehouse, with Back To Black (Island), and Mika’s Life In Cartoon Motion (Casablanca/Island) are still holding steady in the Top 10 with consistent sales.

I'm preparing for #1 fight between Rihana and Mutya. Should be fun! And looking forward to seeing McFly drop out of the 50!

I reckon Mutya fans should just download Lenny Kravitz instead - it's a better song and, let's face it, everyone's buying it for the nicked backing.

I hope the Zimmers get number one.

Worst idea ive heard all year.

Anyway, itll pan out like this:

1. Rihanna

2. Mutya

3. B&S

4. Hellogoodbye

5. Maroon 5

It isn't you know. It'd teach her record company a lesson.

Far too many solo acts are making up for their lack of talent in a non-group situation by relying on a strong backing making up the basis of the song. Bet you they'd never ever have let her release a completely original song. If so, it'd have been 'hello dumper'.

Looking like a flop for Kim Sozzi then...probably not top 40 :-0

I saw loads of new singles out today, I'm surprised hardly any of them have dented the chart...and as for Beautiful Liar back up to No.2...its unbelievable

Simply Red Top 20?! The lead single stalled at top 40 so im surprised!

As for Mutya, its a fight between her and B&S for number 2 but im sure she will manage it ^_^

Chris Cornell is lucky too, for top 20, given that the single missed top 75. Any news on SEB in the albums?

The report does not mention any climbers from download entries last week, bit annoying

rihanna easily number 1 this week, as long as mutya stays at 3 ill be very happy!!!

No sign of the Zimmers??

Hopefully it'll make a bit more impact after the documentary last night. :(

Pleased to see Mutya going Top3 I do hope she stays there - the album is quite good. ^_^

Thats good for Mutya ^_^ hope she can get to 2.

Mikey, any info on the Infernal album?

Not yet, all we have is the Music Week report to go by, and further chart info might be delayed due to Bank Holiday
