Posted April 25, 200620 yr White and Barat compete for singles top spot Source: Music Week This week’s battle of the indie supergroups looks set to go to the wire, with The Raconteurs’ Steady, As She Goes (XL) having a small advantage over Dirty Pretty Things’ Bang Bang Your Dead (Vertigo), according to early retail reports. The Jack White-fronted Racounteurs and Carl Barât’s Dirty Pretty Things are both likely to enter within the top five, with Snow Patrol’s You're All I Have (Fiction) and Chicane feat. Tom Jones’ Stoned In Love (Manifesto) climbing into the Top Ten after being released physically yesterday. Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Dani California (Warner Bros) could enter within the Top Ten based solely on download sales. Will Young’s Who Am I (Sony BMG) is a likely high climber, while other new entries outside the Top Ten come from Michael Jackson (Epic) and Him (Sire). Gnarls Barkley’s album St Elsewhere (Warner Bros) has made its expected big splash in the album chart, where it looks likely to topple Shayne Ward from the number one spot, while chart veterans Bruce Springsteen (Columbia) and Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris (Mercury) are both destined to debut within the Top Ten alongside Rihanna (Def Jam) and Jamie Foxx (J). Taking Back Sunday (Warner Bros), Wolfmother (Modular), Nerina Pallot (14th Floor) and Goo Goo Dolls (Warner Bros) are also likely newcomers in an album market that is 35% up on over the counter sales, week on week. ========================================================== Summary Singles 01 Gnarls Berkley - Crazy 02 Rihanna - SOS 03 Infernal - From Paris To Berlin Top 5 Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes [NEW ENTRY] Dirty Pretty Things - Bang, Bang You're Dead (45) [CLIMBER] Top 10 Snow Patrol - You're All I Have (30) [CLIMBER] Chicane feat. April 25, 200620 yr WOW, never imagined Raconteurs/Dirty Pretty Things to be that big! They'll likely fall by Sunday though?
April 25, 200620 yr I expected DPT to go Top 5, but Raconteurs is really surprising me. And the Peppers Top 10 on downloads only... :o
April 25, 200620 yr Shocking! Raconteurs Dirty Pretty Things They gotta fall away by Sunday, I'd have thought. With 6 new ones in Top10 then U2/Kooks/Orson etc must have fallen out.
April 25, 200620 yr Author Even Beatfreakz is missing surely that would have entered the chart on downloads only
April 25, 200620 yr I can't see Will climbing into the top 10, there doesn't seem to much stock in the shops, hopefully his album will climb a bit instead. :D somebody told meThe Racounteurs were 3 for 3pounds, is that true?
April 25, 200620 yr Even Beatfreakz is missing surely that would have entered the chart on downloads only Yes, but lower end of Top40 and seems today's report only says about singles at top end of chart.
April 25, 200620 yr YAY! For DPT! :cheer: Babyshambles' singles usually go very high so I'm not suprised ;) Any news on how much the Arctic Monkeys has sold or anything?
April 25, 200620 yr Will Young's Top 5 run is stopping now, he had 9 consecutive Top 5 hits, while W******* and Elvis own the record of 20 cosecutive Top 5 hits. W******* are to extend this record this June when their new single The Dance is coming out.
April 25, 200620 yr Author Any news on how much the Arctic Monkeys has sold or anything? NCQ, they not in the chart
April 25, 200620 yr thanks mikey  Shayne sales have dropped far more than i expected  i hope your right andy, would love to see Will go top 10 in both charts
April 25, 200620 yr well, it's kinda funny to not know who Emmylou Harris is and writing 'Mary Lou Harris' instead :D
April 25, 200620 yr Author I think the hype over Gnarls album will push more sales by the end of the week, Shayne will start losing ground.
April 25, 200620 yr Author well, it's kinda funny to not know who Emmylou Harris is and writing 'Mary Lou Harris' instead :D Whoops, I had Mary on the brain, "goes and re-edits"
