I cried. I remember as a young boy (so around 1997-1999 time) I watched it early on a morning on UK Gold before I went to school. So many lovely memories.

 

F*ck Channel 5 for editing out things; I don't care how small it was, the fact they thought it was appropriate to meddle in such a historic episode in any way goes to show they really couldn't give less of a crap about the fans and the show. An absolute abomination of a channel.

I’ve watched the Australian edit and it was only a bit cut out but still they should have kept it all in. Justice for Stephanie McIntosh! Especially since the documentaries that followed were almost not about Neighbours at all.

 

How did that rate compared to normal? I’m guessing it doesn’t normally pull those numbers but I’d have hoped for a bit more.

I think neighbours was usually around the million daily viewers, that 2.6 will climb over 3 when catch up, recordings etc is counted in.

Any update on consolidated figures?

Agreed. Probably the most satisfied I’ve been with a final episode since Desperate Housewives in 2012.

The final episode only aired in Ireland today with a repeat on this evening so hopefully, although i would think many other Irish fans like myself would have watched the hour special on channel 5 on friday night.

The episodes shown in Ireland were the ones shown in Australia, I was sure we would get the same broadcast as the UK but in 2 separate episodes.

I have watched the Australian broadcast. So irritating the UK got a cut version.

I think it was mainly down to timing but I wonder why they opted for different songs to be used, when I rewatched the episodes on irish TV it wasn't harry styles and george ezra used.

Not sure about that. I read it was 1.4m. I think the 2.5m figure is from the UK overnights.

Ya I initially thought the same but it mentioned 1.4 million live and 2.5 with all counted in and when I saw 2.5 I thought it had to be UK ratings, I can't wait to see what the updated ratings for the final in the uk when all is counted in

 

Caught the finale while round my friends flat last night. Was good seeing all these faces especially now seeing that they are established singers and actors outside of neighbours. I didn't recognise Karl at first as I haven't seen it in years. Thought he looked odd bald but turns out it's an illness of sorts.

 

Haven't seen the Australian version will have to check that out too.

The Neighbours finale has been watched by more than 4 million viewers with an additional 400k watching the repeat the following day!

Those ratings are excellent, I initially hoped for 3 million but 4 is just great and while it makes no difference now all those involved in the show will be delighted with those figures.
