Nash laying Foundations for possible number one

Kate Nash looks like being compensated for just missing out on a number one single with her debut album poised to top the chart this coming Sunday.

Nash, whose Foundations single has been number two for five of the past six weeks and was only 16 sales away from topping the chart a fortnight ago, has opened up a sizable sales gap this week on albums with her debut Fiction/Polydor offering Made Of Bricks.

Its strong start to the week comes as it looks like Foundations’ hopes of ever topping the singles chart are now over with both Interscope/Polydor’s The Way I Are by Timbaland featuring Doe and Keri Hilson and Robyn with Kleerup’s With Every Heartbeat – released through the Konichiwa label via Universal – both outperforming it on early sales this week.

Plain White T’s’ former US number one Hey There Delilah appears set to improve on its current number 10 chart position in the UK for EMI’s Angel Group, while former Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes could end up with a Top 10 entry with On The Verge Of Something Wonderful, the first single through his own label Powdered Sugar. Meanwhile, Elliot Minor looks poised to debut in the Top 20 this weekend with Jessica, released on the independent label Repossession.

Back on albums and Kate Nash could be joined in the top five by Roots & Echoes, the fifth album from Deltasonic/Columbia’s The Coral. In its second week out Vertigo/Mercury artist Amy Macdonald’s This Is The Life is holding up strongly following its number two debut on Sunday and could finish ahead on sales this week of Syco act Paul Potts whose One Chance has been number one for the past three weeks.

Timbaland’s Shock Value also continues to perform strongly in what – Kate Nash and The Coral excepted – is a typically quiet summer week for new releases.

Think singles will be :

1 Robyn

2 Timbaland

3 Kate Nash

4 Rihanna

5 Fergie

Albums :

1 Kate Nash

2 The Coral

3 Paul Potts

4 Amy McDonald

5 Newton Faulkner

I think by the end of the week the singles will look like this:

1. Robyn

2. Kanye West

3. Timbaland

4. Kate Nash

5. Fergie

I dont see what the big fuss is with this Kanye West single - I think its very average.

Obviously it'll go top ten but i'd be suprised if it were number one and i DEFINATELY dont see it number 2 on downloads alone this week. I have only heard it played once -_-

I think Kanye will be top 3 by the end of the week, possibly even #1 (deffo next week though)

Hopefully Robyn is #1 this week though and Kate Nash in albums. Darren Hayes deserves top 20, but I'm hoping top 40 at the very least

01. Robyn

02. Timbaland

03. Kate Nash

04. Rihanna

05. Fergie

06. Kanye

Robyn was no.5 on downloads alone, seeing as how record sales are so low at the moment I think it'll be a miracle if she doesn't climb above Timbaland to the top now it's out physically.

Otherwise I guess it'll remain as boring as it has been for the past few months.

Kate Nash and Robyn songs are c**p! :puke2:

Let's hope the download only #5 position curse doesn't strike again!

Poor Rihanna, Killers and Girls Aloud

Are you sure Kanye is on downloads this week?

Not on iTunes 100 yet...

Oh woops it's at #18.

Silly me

 I think it might be Top 10 on iTunes by tonight
Expect Axwell to make a dent aswell, it's released on downloads this week!

Atm of songs out this week or released on download for next week only these on the 100 :o

01. Robyn

18. Kanye West

52. Elliot Minor :o [Thought this would do well]

74. Richard Hawley

97. Mario
