When a AA side is released the downloads of one of the tracks get added to the physical, the other gets a seperate entry. It happened with Lily Allen and McFly earlier in the year and Gnarls Barkley last year too.

I don't have a full top 40 update if I did I would have posted it with the rest, if you look at the title of the thread, its called a mini Thursday update, if it was posted I would have had top 40 written beside it.

I don't think there will be a current chart rundown on Sunday, its all dedicated as a retro show, to mark the 40th Anniversary of Radio 1, I'm hoping they will do some sort of rundown though

Yep Mikey, I was discussing that with my lil bro yesterday.

I still remember the week Captain Sensible did the 33-1 (I used to write the charts down every week in those days). :naughty:

 

I'm sure he was on TOTP the week he charted at 33. In those days the new chart was broadcast by Radio 1 on Tuesday at 1245pm. They would play the new chart from numbers 5-2 then do the top40 countdown and play No1. I thought it had dropped out the chart that week.

Shakin' Stevens did a similar thing in 1981 when "Green Door" jumped 22-1 (I think!). I'd thought the track had dropped out of the 40 altogether too!

Louis must be worried because they've added another signing for saturday morning, 9am-11am HMV Belfast. I really can't understand why they're so determined to get him to no1 though, :unsure: no2 is brilliant isn't it? I know it's a fantastic feeling when your favourite artist gets a no1 single, but these days I'd be more excited for good album sales as surely thats what matters most in the long run.

True, but I think having a #1 is a lot more of a big deal. You know like when he's introduced on shows "his comeback single shot to #1... it's Shayne Ward!" etc. Although it'll probably be inflated and they'll say it's 3 #1's because it's a double A. :lol:
