Posted October 25, 200717 yr Who would have thought that two of the songs in the top 20 would still be in the top 75 (albeit not with unbroken runs) one year later? 1 (1) My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade 2 (2) Razorlight - America 3 (4) Bob Sinclar ft Cutee B - Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now) 4 (3) Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin' 5 (-) Girls Aloud - Something Kinda Ooooh* 6 (43) Meat Loaf ft Marion Raven - It's All Coming Back To Me Now 7 (5) P Diddy ft Nicole Scherzinger - Come To Me 8 (20) James Morrison - Wonderful World 9 (6) Lil' Chris - Checking It Out 10 (36) Ordinary Boys - Lonely At The Top 11 (7) Beatfreakz - Superfreak 12 (9) Justin Timberlake - Sexyback 13 (47) Jamie T - If You Got The Money 14 (-) Beyonce - Irreplaceable* 15 (12) Nelly Furtado ft Timbaland - Promiscuous 16 (8) Killers - When You Were Young 17 (13) Shakira ft Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie 18 (11) Lily Allen - LDN 19 (-) Amy Winehouse - Rehab* 20 (14) Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars 21 (15) Cascada - Everytime We Touch 22 (17) Cast Of High School Musical - Breaking Free 23 (-) Pet Shop Boys - Numb 24 (18) Pussycat Dolls - I Don't Need A Man 25 (16) Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober 26 (21) Paolo Nutini - Jenny Don't Be Hasty 27 (10) David Hasselhoff - Jump In My Car 28 (23) Pink - U + Ur Hand 29 (22) Jamelia - Something About You 30 (-) The Holloways - Generator 31 (29) Cassie - Me & U 32 (24) Chamillionaire ft Krayzie Bone - Ridin' 33 (-) Rogue Traders - Watching You 34 (26) Lemar - It's Not That Easy 35 (19) Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger 36 (25) Feeling - Never Be Lonely 37 (28) David Guetta vs The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away) 38 (-) Cassie - Long Way 2 Go* 39 (42) Goo Goo Dolls - Iris / Stay With You 40 (30) Fergie - London Bridge 43 (65) Lloyd Banks ft 50 Cent - Hands Up 48 (-) The Rifles - Peace & Quiet 50 (-) The Magic Numbers - Take A Chance* 55 (-) Rihanna - We Ride* 56 (56) Lionel Richie - I Call It Love 58 (-) Kooks - Ooh La* 60 (-) The View - Superstar Tradesman* 67 (-) Coolio ft Snoop Dogg - Gangsta Walk 69 (-) Deftones - Hole In The Earth 73 (62) Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah 74 (-) Imogen Heap - Headlock 75 (re) Jamie T - Sheila * download-only Notable features of this chart: #8 would manage 3 consecutive weeks at #33 later on in its run. This was only the 2nd time the Pet Shop Boys had missed the top 20 with one of their releases. #27 charted due to a campaign by Scott Mills (it peaked at #3). #30 was re-issued in June, making #14. #35 had a strange run: 35-5-11-13-14-16-18-19-35-xx-xx-xx-xx-49-52-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-43-47-39-34-42-52-52-55-56-68-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-72-xx-xx-xx-xx-61. Follow-up Whistle For The Choir had a similarly bizarre run (both due to the songs being removed from and re-added to Itunes). #73 was charting on downloads due to a limited vinyl release a few months previously - it was re-issued and entered at #11 the following week before climbing to #2. #74 charted despite one of the physical formats being ineligible due to too many folds in the artwork. Jamie T's re-entry came 12 weeks after the song was last in the top 75 (it had only peaked at #22, but then made #15 when re-issued earlier this year). Curiously, If You Got The Money also managed a re-entry at #71 11 weeks after its previous top 75 week when Calm Down Dearest was released. Finally, this week was a 'calm before the storm', as the following week saw climbs from the download entries listed (View to #15, Kooks to #20, Rihanna to #17, Magic Numbers to #16, Cassie to #12, Amy Winehouse to #7, Beyonce to #5, and Girls Aloud to #3), plus 2 major releases that did not chart on downloads - Fedde Le Grand at #2 (before climbing to #1), and McFly at #1 (the first time they used their text-download trick). This resulted in a few big fallers e.g. Bob Sinclar fell 3-8, Lil' Chris fell 9-19, Ordinary Boys fell 10-31, Beatfreakz fell 11-28, Jamie T fell 13-33.

October 27, 200717 yr Oh how rejoiced I was when 'The Black Parade' went to #1 on the UK chart  I never saw it coming  When I first heard it I thought surefire No.1...and then it crept slowly up iTunes and got to No.23 on downloads I thought it has no chance at No.1 anymore... and then it vaulted to No.1 the next week :o
October 27, 200717 yr Oh how rejoiced I was when 'The Black Parade' went to #1 on the UK chart  I never saw it coming  Don't distract from the fact that they're cr*p, will never be in the Guiness 500, and only appeal to kids and hoodies who read Kerrang!.
