8 :ne: Pet Shop Boys - I'm With Stupid

Release date 08.05.06

From HMV

'I'm With Stupid' is the first single lifted from the forthcoming Pet Shop Boys album, 'Fundamental', and the first new material since 'The Hits – Popart' spawned two hit singles ('Miracles' - No.10 in November 2003 and 'Flamboyant' - No.12 in April 2004). Produced by Trevor Horn (who previously worked with the duo on their 'Introspective' album in 1988), this is a complete return to form, revisiting the straight-forward hi-energy pop of their most commercially successful era, bringing to mind the likes of 'Heart' and 'It's A Sin'.

The nation voted for him in their millions to crown him winner of The X-Factor 2005, and his record-breaking debut single 'That's My Goal' stormed to the top of the charts giving him the Christmas No.1, where it stayed for four weeks. Following this phenomenal success, Shayne Ward releases his second single 'No Promises', an emotive ballad, featuring a rousing chorus that showcases Shayne's amazing vocal range to the full. 'No Promises' is taken from Shayne's forthcoming eponymous debut album, which was released last month. - HMV

Is there anyone else who finds it slightly ironic & sad that the chart rundown will have Shayne Ward at #7, with the Pet Shop Boys - I'm With Stupid just beneath it. :(

But it's not all bad, #8 is their highest charting single in years isn't it?

since you only tell you love love me when you are drunk in 2000 that was 8 as well (had another top 10 couple of yrs later)

6  (from 2) DANI CALIFORNIA - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

Red Hot Chili Peppers return with 'Dani California', an exciting preview of the eclectic sounds of 'Stadium Arcadium', their eagerly anticipated double-CD album. Continuing the story of Dani California that was established on the band's prior albums 'By The Way' and 'Californication', as with the rest of the double-album set, 'Dani California' was produced by Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, System Of A Down) in the same house in the Hollywood Hills that the band recorded 1991's landmark album 'BloodSugarSexMagik'. - HMV
