I've heard it soooooo many times and it is such as good song.

It is much better than so many songs in the top ten such as the Shane Ward song.

It's only bad wen compared to their own songs.

 

I can't lie - I don't like the Spice Girls but I do admit that some of their songs in their heyday were barn-storming pop classics. But Headlines - I don't even hate it! I'm just ambivalent to it I find it instantly forgettable. I hated Rihanna's Umbrella - but I have to admit it got stuck in my head and objectively I have to admit it is a good song and worthy of its sales.

 

Anyway ... I don't want to get into an argument about liking or disliking the SG's ... if I do I may have to let Kathy back out of the wardrobe.

I know for a fact that wen u hate a pop group, it tends to cloud ur judgment and it can have an unfair bias opinion.

It's a cover.......I'm sure if spice girls sang a cover it wud be no:1...easily.

Spice Girls don't ask other people to write songs for them, they contribute and they wud neva do a cover (even if it's in there favour).

tbh just like the Spice girls, I would rather av dem enter number 10 or even 20 den to av dem stoop so low and do a cover (like pestlife do)

i have nothing against westlife, my mum loves them (not that that matters to any of you :unsure: lol,) but they always come across as a bit smug to me.

 

Plus nowadays they only release like 2 songs per album. I bet if they released 4 or 5+ singles from an album they would not all sell to achieve top 5. Just because they achieved this in 1999 doesn't mean they will now, i mean look at how the spice girls are selling now compared to back then :cry:

Spice girls stayed at the top for 2-3 years. Westlife have stayed for 5 years (not counting the last 5 where Westlife are just close to the top).

 

See now spice girls making a come back and releasing a single which is not gonna make the top 10... Westlife are still strong and have top 3 and No.1 singles.

ohhhh probably you haven't seen spices haven't even hit the UK yet

by next month when the tour gets underway the spices sales will pickup massively, plus it's christmas. and let's face it, 17 sold out nights at the o2 - i think the spices have more then hit the UK :dance: just a shame about the single, it's their own fault though!

and the album, it's been almost 2 weeks out and has sold less than 100k

ITunes seems to be updated now as Girls Aloud's "Call The Shots" appears at No.2 of the Top Songs chart (on the frontpage alone, though). It totally make sense, as it'd have been impossible for them to be so high on downloads alone without even being Top 100 on the iTunes chart.

 

I'm very glad for them, fingers crossed it is Top 10 on tomorrow's Top 40 Singles Chart!

I hope Britney is still top 15 with "Gimme More", and hopefully she won't fall more then five places with "Blackout".
