I'm also scared now because people might think, we have already voted for one solo male, so I don't want to give the other anymore points :( That's what I think

You've no need to worry as long as you've got the strongest solo male ^_^

I'm definately not anti-male entries I just think females sound better most of the time

You have one anti-male country on your side :smoke:

It won't set the Ashtonise chart alight, it debuted just outside the top 40 this week. It should be in for mid range points.

I doubt it'll get a 12 but it will score.

Making BJSCIII the only time Ashton hasn't given FSR Rontvia points :o

you say that, but we might be in different semis, or Vincent might miss the final, so then you couldn't vote for it! but its' great to hear it should score at least  shame you didn't like Andreas though  :(

I don't know quite what's wrong with me but that's sort of how I work. I quite like John Legend and Kanye West at the moment but even my favourite songs by them would struggle to score highly with me as I generally like female artists better. 'Green Light' is probably my favourite John Legend song now and I think I only gave it 2 points and it got to #15 in my chart, it'd probably do better in both now but it's still low for one of my favourite male songs. -_-

I can't say Vincent will change my ways, but it's alright and should do well.

each to their own, I used to be like that until I was about 18 when the Daniel Powter/James Blunt summer of 2005 opened me up more to male vocalists...prior to that, 99% of the music I listened to was by female acts, but now it's more 70% female/30% male...I've bought albums by Take That, Boyzone, Darren Styles, Ne-Yo, Daniel Powter, Ola, MGMT, Taio Cruz, Scooter and loads of others this year

I agree to a large extent, and I used to despise male vocalists but I am quickly coming round to them now and I think that more male entries to this contest might make it more interesting

I have opened my mind to a lot of new sounds and songs during this contest, I never in a million years dreamed that my 12 in BJSCX would go to Camille! BJSC has really helped me to discover new and different music, so I pay quite a bit more attention to the unique songs than the female pop that this contest is flooded with (usually coming from FSR Rontvia admittedly :heehee:) which is why I'm going to take a few more risks now, in the hopes that I can introduce people to some 'different' sounding songs

Funny thing is, initially i did like Andreas.

Dunno what happened :(

it's such an underrated classic :o  the way the pulsating drums crash into the sweeping strings is immense

one of the better UK top five hits of the early 00's!

Daniel Powter and James Blunt would distance me from male vocalists even more, I really can't stand them. Which is odd because I like the fairly similar James Morrison. I just don't think I'll ever be crazy about male vocalists, I can like songs by them but I'll rarely be excited enough to download a whole album by them.

I'd say I've got more open to music in the last year or two but more towards 'different' female artists and a few male artists. This time last year I wouldn't have thought I'd like a John Legend or Kanye West album and I don't think I could listen listen to an M.I.A. or Santogold album. In fact, even earlier this year when 'Paper Planes' got a limited release I think I described it as something like "a song ruined by awful gunshots and till sounds that wouldn't even sound good without them" yet 6 or 7 months later it reached #1 in my personal chart.

I also thought Amy Winehouse was terrible when 'Back To Black' was first released and now she's up there as one of my favourite artists. Then again in 2006 I had literally no interest in music. My latest album was from about 2000, I didn't have so much as an MP3 player and I had no idea who Lily Allen was. Now I can't imagine not having an interest in music. Sometimes I feel like listening to what I missed between 2000 and late 2007 when I pretty much ignored music.

I hate to say it, but my taste in music is probably abot 90% female 10% male. Besides Justin, Robbie, Lemar, Take That & the occasional McFly song i woudnt really say i like all that much from male vocalists. But who knows how my taste will develop.

I honestly thought exactly the same at one time, and was disgusted when people even suggested I listened to male artists...but it's really shocking how much my tastes changed in recent times :o

you ignored music for 7 years :o  I didn't get properly into music until 1998 (thank you Cher's Believe :heehee:) but some of my favourite songs come from well before that period  it's always fun to discover classic old songs for the first time

did you find a replacement video yet, her ridiculous record company are still banning all trace of her from youtube until she is predictably listed in the 'sounds of 2009' lists next month

I have finally obtained Maria's album Hold On Be Strong.
